Well isn't this just a wonderful surprise! Very wholesome. My interpretation is simple; Yoshi took care of Mario when he was scared and Mario, unconditionally, returned the favor.

You Know a Memoir of Super Mario Land 1 Where Wario Was the Mastermind Behind SML1 & 2 And Takes Over Mario's Castle While the Alien Tatanga and His Army Were Only Wario's Henchmen and Still Managed To Kidnap, Hypontized Daisy and Invades Sarasaland? Just My Made-Up Story To See How Mario and Daisy Goes Without Luigi, Also I'll Include a Map of the Flower Kingdom From SMB Wonder In Order To Match Daisy's Inclusion In the Game.
