I'm not asking for this advice from Ellen because she doesn't see these comments but I'm asking you strangers who come and comment. I'm 19 btw. I feel like crap coming to ask strangers for advice but I don't know what else to do. I've hated myself all my life really but about a month ago I was raped in these apartments across the street from me. Every since then I can't forget about it, I try not to think about it but it's all I think about..I think about dying almost everyday it seems..and I cry myself to sleep hoping I don't wake up or wake up as someone else. I never express these feelings to anyone I know bc I feel like a fuck up and a Debbie downer, I feel like I make people sad with my shittyness so I prefer to pretend to be happy but that's becoming difficult now..death is becoming something I think about non stop..what should I do? Can I be fixed? I just want to be happy..

That's a lot in a youtube comment. Of course you can be fixed, you can turn out for the better, you can be fine. I feel sorry for what happened to you. Try looking out for help on a hotline, or a rape survival group or something. I'm worried about the mean comments you might get on youtube :(. Of course, if you wanna talk about it, I'll support you as much as I can. Also, if you can afford it, maybe you should move out, so you don't have to see the apartments. You could also try informing the police, but since it was about a month ago, there isn't much evidence..

hey, maybe you could try to go and make a feel visits to a councillor/therapist. getting your feelings out always helps. or maybe you could try talking to one your friends or family members get some advice, i'm sure they'll give you support.. sometimes covering up your feeling can make you feel worse. hope you get the help you need and feel better soon. please try speaking to someone and letting your feelings out in the open, even if it's one person. Please make sure you get the help you need :p

Everything I want to say he/she just said. The only thing I can add is to see a therpist. also, smile. when you smile it makes the brain happy, just like when your happy you smile. Try it. tell me if it makes you happy

Try talking to a close friend or a therapist. Maybe try something that you like to do? You could meet some really great people! If you ever need to talk feel free to message me, i hope things start to get better! :)

I also think about dying a lot. More than a lot. Think about what's good in your life. There's this really cool website called the comfort spot that is really helpful. Thinking today about what happened yesterday won't make tomorrow any better.
