Larry Butcher served as army medic in III Corps, South Vietnam, 1969-1970. In his first six months, he served with soldiers on ambushes and search and destroy missions in the area northwest of Cu Chi. He experienced much combat, though as a religious conscientious objector he did not carry a weapon. He shares memories from his time of service.
