The benchmarks that you're using are just measuring the disk's performance, that's why it's no faster (a bit slower due to RAM checks at startup). The main difference will be the responsiveness of the applications when you've got lots of things running (less VM paging etc). Keep an eye on the Activity Monitor (system memory tab) and you'll see what I mean. Startup times (machine and applications) will improve when you use an SSD.

Thank you! That was a brilliant instructive video, and a lot clearer than some other videos explaining the same thing, especially in terms of focusing on exactly how to get the ram out. I hope to install mine as soon as it arrives. :D

You will see the RAM be a huge improvement in memory intensive apps. Starting up is not a good measure of performance due to the increased RAM check.

@joeyblondewolf3 Why not? that way you can extend. it was originally 2gb+2gb = 4gb, now its 4gb + 4gb = 8gb

@jp10IamMeNotU You should take the 1,6 ghz rams in order to take a little more speed up m8. Rams like 1 ghz or 1,3 ghz ....are standarts.And you will also see some fine difference in apps which need much ram ^_^
