For my small air compressor, I put in a tee and a ~10 gallon air tank. That help a lot, and is much cheaper than buying a very large compressor. Good work on the car and the garage!

I used to work at a fabrication shop under the table for a family friend, and I was just the shop boy. I cleaned, and sanded shit down. Using those wire wheels though! I used to get shit in my fingers 24/7!

Not sure if others have commented but you can seal/ caulk the interior seams of the sandblasted to cut back on the dust that escapes out of the box..

Hey man, clearcoat op hammerite wil nog wel eens anders uitpakken. Hammerite is vaak een lastig goedje wat niet graag samenwerkt met andere verfen. Omdat onze bus in hammerite groen is gedaan moet ik voor nu met bijwerken wel even, maar het liefste 1K of 2K lakken van dezelfde fabrikant. Had laatst het differentieel in de brunox gezet en halve dag erna primer van Wurth eroverheen (rost-stop) en dat begon scheuren te vertonen, ook al was de laag eronder droog. Wellicht de kou of gewoon de verf die niet samen wilde gaan met de brunox epoxy laag.

The reaktion off the paint on the diff lock part is because the hammerite spray you used to paint contains silicon. Thats why the clearcoat reacted.strange

I find it hard to paint freshly blasted cast aluminum. I now just blast it then give it a coat of Gibbs oil. Porsche folks use this on air-cooled 911 fans.

I am deeply jealous of the garage, i need a car lift in my life :D Btw, the steering box - im not entirely sure how its done on BMWs, but some other ones have an adjustment screw that can help with the play in the steering. Might be worth checking out, instead of buying a whole new unit.

Brake shields won’t need heat resistant paint. Those will rust now very soon if you painted them by some rattle can 600°C paint.

To state the same as others please please use eye protection either glasses or better still a visor, it’s a lot cheaper than your eyes!

Hammerite contains silicone and result of that it wouldn't allow you to apply other paints over it.

Are you not concerned about power washing water into frame rail and tinier holes where it wouldn't evaporate thus initiate/accellerate rust?

Careful with painting in an enclosed space like your small garage! You easily can create an explosive atmosphere which can ignite even from the conpressor motor! Otherwise nice video!

U did sand blast the inside of the differential. I thought you shouldn't be supposed to sand plast the inside of like oilpans and stuff 🤔

in the absence of total masks on the head when painting , I always used women,s tights if it worked 100% paint vapors .(try)

I was thinking about getting a Sandblaster too. Which Kompressor are you using? I read that they should be pushing at least 600l of air per minute at about 6.5 Bar. Mine only does about 225l/min. Great Video btw :)
