For everyone who is wondering what this is about- The movie is Peacock (2010). It’s about a man, John, who suffers from a rare condition called Dissociative Identity Disorder (formally known as Multiple Personality Disorder). This means that his brain has fractured into multiple parts, creating multiple unique personalities that can take control. Basically, he has different people living in his head, and they can switch and take over as the dominant personality. One of his personalities is a woman, Emma. This is why we see ‘him’ dressing as a woman. When Emma, the female alter, fronts (takes control) she dresses up to make herself look more similar to how she does in their head. Emma is a completely separate person from John. You can google more stuff about this, but this is the basic explanation. It’s not that he’s transgender, or a crossdresser, it’s a very different situation. Hope this explanation helps some! Very good film. Cillian is amazing in it. ❤

People who have d.i.d don't typically know their other personalities and can't just change between them. D.i.d is a disassociating defense mechanism. It's a trauma response. My older brother has d.i.d and when his other personality takes over he blacks out.

Love this movie and is one of my favorite of Cillian’s movies. I wish a lot more people had known about it before Oppenheimer. It has an amazing cast and Cillian does what he does best in this movie.

U can't control the alters,his female alter came front and she dresses as a female and he was a guy who dresses as a man ,I have both genders and multiple and deciding what to wear is annoying asf since mist of us usually also have littles and if they pop out in nude clothing ot settings it feels wrong

⁠⁠@@RizzBakeryI think they meant after the alarm. From this clip it seems they have been able to successfully change out on cue and follow a set schedule to not indulge too long. This is definitely one of those "you need to watch it" moments. Also what movie do you think best represents DID?

@@fluffy5302 (sorry for the paragraph) no-what I can get from the alarm is that he gives his female alter time to do whatever she wants before It goes off for work and when the alarm goes off,she knows that he needs to go to work so they switch,switching don't usually work on command tho but in this short it seems like it's a positive trigger(like they use the alarm to communicate with each other and switch like if u present me candy,toys etc my little alter will come out,u look for patterns and reasons they come out so u can use those patterns to make life more normal)and I'm afraid I can't tell u any movie that best describes DID as we don't watch much movies and so far I say they show us like over exaggerated and or crazy,we can live normal lives without even letting anyone else get a clue abt us unless they know what to look for maybe(my experience, others have different experiences,not all DID people can talk/communicate with their alters, rather it's an emotional response/feeling from within)

I didnt realise there was another movie where Cillian Murphy dressed as a woman. He looked beautiful in Breakfast on Pluto as well. Really interesting face.
