I'm not too great at these types of games but I do enjoy watching them hope to see more.

The tanks behave like racing cars, like in Faces of War... Looks horrible.

I spent couple hundreds of hours in the first men of war. Then the many dlc then assault squads 1-2. i played with faces of war and even with less known(Soldiers: Heroes of World War II) which one is basically originate everything what men of war or company of heroes are right now. So in overall 2 maybe 3000 hours i spent in. So i feel kinda qualified when i say: This gameplay feels like a downgrade! i get it... improved engine and better graphics maybe... but don't see so much of an "upgrade". Expect some of the fire and and smoke. But honestly? Seen better from modders...

Looks good. What gets me, is there never seems to be good old ww2 music to go along with the missions. It adds atmosphere and makes the game so much better. Anyone remember the old Medal of Honour Allied Assault PC game. That had amazing music. Wish they would add something like that.

Tanks move like robots. Doesnt have any wait or so on them. And they respond so quick. Had high hopes for this game. :(

History fact of the day: The turret of panthers were sometimes mounted into the ground to act as an anti-tank gun. This happened due to the fact that the turret was being produced faster than the chassis of the panther. 🤠

Me resulta lamentable que haya sido lanzada, ya que desde el inicio se destaca su enfoque marcadamente arcade, una característica que se hace evidente de inmediato. La carencia de la sensación de peso en los tanques es notoria, y algunos sonidos parecen haber sido tomados directamente del primer "Men of War" que fue lanzado en 2008. La percepción de que las distancias de disparo son demasiado cortas genera una experiencia que más parece un combate cuerpo a cuerpo, lo cual no me agrada. Adicionalmente, la representación de las ciudades y pueblos deja mucho que desear. El único aspecto que aprecio es la destrucción de edificios por el fuego; la posibilidad de que una casa se derrumbe a causa del fuego es un detalle destacable. Sin embargo, como alguien que ha jugado tanto al primer "Men of War" como a "Assault Squad 2" y "Gates of Hell", considero que esta secuela es vergonzosa en comparación. A pesar de ser una versión beta, confío en que se realicen mejoras significativas antes del lanzamiento oficial. En mi experiencia, "Gates of Hell" ha establecido un estándar muy alto para los nuevos juegos RTS en términos de calidad y fidelidad, tanto en gráficos como en movimientos, ambientación e inmersión. En mi opinión, la opción clara es "Gates of Hell". Si buscas una experiencia más arcade, te sugiero "Men of War 2", mientras que para una experiencia más realista, "Gates of Hell" es la elección adecuada. Cabe mencionar que disfruto de la característica de historia o lore, así como la representación del sentimiento en los personajes. La capacidad de que el comandante se enoje por perder demasiados hombres es una característica destacada que humaniza a los personajes, algo que no se ve con frecuencia en los RTS.

The thing that bugs me the most about this game is the UI, i hate the icons above vehicles. Its like do we really need that in single player? it just doesnt fit with men of war, looks too arcadey for me.

ah this game, where the publisher deleted any negative comments off of their discord/forums even if it was constructive. They also banned many people from their discord and the only people left are mindless zombies. If anyone was there when the game first went into the public test you will know how bad it is. Ive never seen a publisher act the way these people do, even in voice chat being rude to several community members, myself included while i was trying to be constructive.

Am I hearing things, but did I here an American soldier say " for the Mother land"? Say what? When did an American Soldier ever say that!?

Also, did I hear one of the US soldiers yell something about "the motherland"? Really?? The localization people are sometimes not the best. Reminds me of the infamous "Target is in the reach zone" bark. HIRE A GOOD TRANSLATION/LOCALIZATION COMPANY and have an internal person check their work (I work in translation/localization so this kind of thing drives me nuts).

This doesn't feel nearly as immersive. Like every game has shorter engagement distances obviously, but 5:30 just looks goofy, the tanks are in clear view, like 100 feet away from the Germans. In the older games the maps felt like they were designed with the shorter engagement distances in mind so as to not break immersion too much. I can't think of any moment in MOWAS2 or GoH that looked like that to me. It's goofy. Im glad they delayed the game because of the the criticism though. that says a lot about the developers imo, but we'll have to wait and see what they do, they'd have to overhaul a lot of stuff if they want to get close to assault squad or gates of hell.

Sadly this game wanna be more like COH, thats why i stick with MOW AS 1 and GATES OF HELL.

Vehicle sounds are a bit meh... and path finding still has some issues, par far the course with these titles but it does have some nice gameplay.. scripting is shite.

I won't be buying this. The enemy AI does not look like its improved any from Gates Of Hell engine. What was acceptable in 2013 is not acceptable these days, modern PCs have aggregate CPU power of 36Ghz+ so pathfinding, awareness and teamwork algorithms should be beefed up accordingly.

Gates of hell is infinitely better than this trash. oversaturated, mud textures, same garbage voice lines since the original MOW games, gun and engine sounds are wack as hell, low detail on human models, no direct control like Gates of Hell=garbage, same vehicle destruction VFX as 10-12 years ago, crap VAs, goofy ass death animations. Why buy this over Gates of Hell lmao.
