Not the actual song!! this tells the story of the father as he leaves home and goes to battle in WW2. also this version features 3 poems of war by Nu Breed.

I was wounded in Fallujah, and this song, this song choked me up. It made me think of the Brotherhood, the closeness, the love. We were not fighting the government's war, we were fighting for each other and our loved ones back home, what happens there effects millions back home, the loss is crippling to family and friends. R.i.P Lcpl Bootsie Vereen, Sgt. Bobo Smith and Ssgt Joey wilhoyt. God bless this Damn country, real men will die for their country. It's a ugly ripple effect, but necessary down to the very smallest player.

My grandfather's brother was killed in Pearl harbor..the day after they found out about his death he and his three brothers joined different branches of the military... God bless those who go to dangerous places.. and God help us keep our freedom which is slowly slipping away..

That's a beautiful story about your grandfather and 3 great uncles. Bravery is so lost among these Generations. I believe it was 1969 and there was "THE DRAFT" and I believe it may have even been called the lottery although I don't know why because you did not win if your number was called you basically died , and everyone gathered together as families and sat around and watched their television to see if their husband or child or grandchild or Uncle or brother or cousin or father or best friends murder number would be called to go be murdered in Vietnam. One day my parents came home from work and my brother dropped out of high school yes in the best year of your life. YES your SENIOR YEAR the absolute hands-down best year of your entire life you'll ever have gone to Vietnam. AKA Hanahan High School Hanahan South Carolina and he had joined the Marines as my father had when he was a young man. My brother was only 17 years of age and yes back in 1969 during the draft you could join at probably 10 years old. He did not need my parent's permission they were to say the least in shock. However most of all they were proud so proud, they were proud of their son who would BRAVELY follow in his Father's Footsteps and join the UNITED STATE'S MARINE CORPS at the ripe age of a baby 17 years old at a time of WAR exactly as his father had before him.

My Grandfather enlisted into WW2 at 17 yrs old to follow his brother. He was in the Navy and was on a tanker ship converted into a destroyer. It was one of the first ships sunk in the Southern Pacific fleet. Hit by kamikazes he used to tell me stories how they fired until the cannon's melted the barrels. He was one of only 100 survivors. Got a purple heart. Thanks for the video brought me back to hearing him again.

Amen for this one.. such beautiful song. 🙏 My great grandfather was navy coxswain in ww2, frontlines. He returned unlike so many unfortunate others; but with many battle scars that ate away at him- he eventually had passed 19 years after the war from alcoholism. It truly makes you wonder what he had seen and went through..Ptsd is real. He left behind one daughter. But Thankfully I know of all his background and can visit him and my great grandmother in the national cemetery. God bless all of the men and women that serve. 🫡💯🫶🙏

As I lay here in my hospital bed due to a work related injury that damn near killed me.... I'm watching your video. All that I can think of is, my dear old Grand Dad. He was a front line medic during WW2, Korea, AND Viet Nam. I honestly feel that I'm still alive today because my dear old Grand Dad is watching over me. If he was still alive today, he would have full support for you guy's. Like you guys, I grew up in the country. (Yes, Nazifornia isn't all about the beaches and movie stars.) Every year, it snows at my house. In fact, my house was built in the 1800's. The foundation is built from the old mining tailings. You definitely have my full support.
