It looks that way, but no. Even if you stop pumping your arms you still have the momentum. If you look at the 10m splits (google like Bolt 2008 vs 2009 100m splits) you'll see that at 80m his 9.58 race was ahead of his 9.69 race, so even if he went all out until the end during the 9.69 he would have went slower than 9.58. 9.62~9.64 most likely.

I just came here to watch this after just watching the men's 100m finals in Tokyo which was won by an Italian wrestler, congrats to him. The Jamaican men's sprinting has dissolved almost to nothing.

That's all they've ever had was Bolt. why are you surprised? They never really won before Usain Bolt. He was great to revive the sport though

@@lovelybliss3778 woa woa woa lemme check you on that. yes, bolt delivered all our gold in the men's 1 and 200m department, but our first track gold dates back to 1948 in the 400m by wint, VCB also brought home a couple golds. We were always competitive, but bolt really started the Golden era. foh

@@Chromedawgg there's no need to correct because I stand by what I said. The original comment made was very specific. YOU stated "men's 100m" and the Olympics. My comment is very appropriate. You are naming all these other races and even mentioned women's 🙄😉🤣.

Bolt was legendary but i always loved Gatlins running technique because his starts were always ridiculously fast the way he started generating power from the blocks. HIs form was so unique compared to the others. He really pushed bolt for the win in that 2016 final i got chills.
