When you have the better cl&jk you bat in the bottom of the ninth as we say in American baseball. Nuridinov did and flies out to deep centerfield.

Does anybody know if Iran’s Ali Hashemi has retired? Haven’t seen him since he bombed at the Olympics. Had a pretty successful career with 2 world titles to his credit.

as a powerlifter I was made fun of due to knee wraps, well the olympic lifters are wearing much more equipment with the knee wraps, the leggings, the long sleeve tight shirt, belt, wrist wraps, my goodness, the old lifters in the day such as Naim wore a thin belt and a wrestling suits, what a difference

Not an Olympic category, so the best have moved up to 109+ or down to 102.

@@brandonrothsman2665 most of them are too tall to ever be competitive in 102, but lack the genetics/metabolism + PEDs and coaching to get significantly high enough above 109

Djuraev is very below his level, in the Olympics being younger he lifted a lot more, I don't know if being in the super heavyweights for a long time and then going down will have affected him a lot.

He was down 18 kg from his 109 best total at this year’s worlds, did a couple more at Asia games a couple weeks later. For someone who lost 17 kg body weight in a matter of a few months that wasn’t bad. The big question is how much the next 7 kg of body weight loss will affect him. Akbar is already pretty lean. I can still see him getting silver in Paris tho.

@@johndoherty-hh2ck I totally agree with you, and seeing him lose 7kg but I don't know how much it could affect him, I know that Akbar is very strong but I am worried that the Olympics are coming and I don't see him as well prepared as in the previous Olympics, I would like to see him with the gold on his neck since I am a big admirer of this boy, let's wait how things turn out because China is sweeping everything
