Amazing how the race was won with 200m to go. Jake got to the bend first and that half-a-stride advantage stayed the same the whole way to the finish.

I remember this so well, I screamed the lad all the way to the finish. Wonderful stuff and so richly deserved!

You can tell Wrightman isn't used to winning because he was holding the flag wrong at 7:30, and the lady had to help him fix it!

This was the best race for the UK at the World champs since the 4 x 400m relay in 1991. Brilliant race. Ingebrigtsen might be fast, but he forgot how to race at this meeting, his nerve went when Jake cut in on the last bend 🤩

Mcsweyn needs some tactical help. Trying to run the outside of lane 2 around a turn to get into a spot that didn’t help him at all and then slowly fall back is step 1 of how to not race at champs. You might as well give everyone in front of you a 5 meter head start, at that level you can’t do that. 2 of the 3 medalists started the race at the very back and then gradually moved through the pack. No wasted movements. Not swinging out to the outside of lane 2 on a turn. Reminds me of Johnny Gregorek at USA’s a couple years ago. Slower paced race but Johnny spent a lot of time in lanes 2 and 3 and fighting for positions that didn’t matter

Nobody fell off. It was balls out all the way in a sub 3:30 race.

SO annyoing that the on-screen clock isn't turn on before around 600m!

When the commentator says Jake “legitimately” cut Ingebritsen up, I’m wondering what the rule on that is. It didn’t look legitimate to me and it definitely affected Ingebritsen’s race….though he still had the opportunity to pass him all down the home straight.
