I'm starting to see a trend in the body type of the top competitors, notice they average about 5'9" and weigh about 170 lbs. There is just no getting around it no matter what sport or physical activity you do there are those whose body type and genetics give them more potential than others. All these finalists are very similar in size. A 6'5" guy weighing 230 lbs could be in better shape but his size and weight give him a disadvantage and less efficient in things like the rope climb.

Nobody is stopping any person of color from competing. Its a world wide competition and everybody has the same chance of qualifying. Everyone does the same series of workouts to qualify for the Sectionals/Regionals/Finals.

Its actually a special tape called Kinesio tape. I dont remember exactly how it works, but it acts almost as an extra tendon, holding the muscle in place and helping with injured muscles and preventing further injury, I think it also helps with blood flow. It is also used outside of actual workouts to help muscles heal.

Lol you comment in a video that has Chad McKay in it who is 6 foot 210 pounds, Matt Chan who's 5'10 210 pounds and Jason Khalipa who's 5'9 210 pounds. Three people who are in the final event who all weigh 40 pounds heavier than you claim they need to be and are all different heights. Meanwhile there's people like Josh Bridges and Chris Spealler who are 5'6 and 5'7 under 170 pounds that do exceptionally well, too. Crossfit's only "preferred" body type is fit.

I believe Cross Fit will push you to become an overall better athlete in regards to all the athletic categories...but before you jump right into just doing cross fit workouts you need to hit the gym for awhile like the Froning's and Holmberg's did. They were athletes before they started so they already had a good base there. Tell me if I am off point but wouldn't it take longer to build strength by just doing cross fit workouts over iso stuff??

@ A. Ledo...funny the people I see at my gym, must be mutants. Been doing Crossfit for nearly 2 yrs, and noticing, in my and other CF'rs body's fat v. lean muscle composition change dramatically, I would have to say, following your logic, Crossfit must be magical. Hard work, clean eating, appropriate rest, seem to work wonders. Further, most people doing Crossfit, are looking to bulk up, we do it to stay out of nursing homes when we grow "old".

It hasn't been shown scientifically to do anything, but a lot of athletes prefer it. It's supposed to provide support; however, all studies have only shown a placebo effect, which is better than nothing, I suppose.

I know this is light for them, but at least get some depth, it is Snatch if I'm not mistaken, not Power Snatch. Not many reps were made that were proper Snatch, strong performance though.

not true. I was in africa for a year and regularly took 5 MG of creatine after a loading cycle. Never had a problem in 150 degree heat. Ran 4 5ks and weight lifted outdoors daily. its about acclimatization and proper hydration.

Awesome! But for me, to truly really be called fittest on earth, it is lacking true high intensity aerobic things. Like 1hr rowing on the Concept2 machine or something. Or 1hr cycling on the velodrome. Right now the weighlifting thing and interval is way too dominant.

Wasn't necessarily a dis, was just making an observation. I am quite interested in crossfit for improving heart health. Since I'm no longer doing power lifting, strongman and sprint competitions I don't need to be as strong and fast anymore... which is perfect for crossfit. With crossfit you don't have to be extremely strong or fast to compete...just have great lactic acid training with weights aka strength endurance.

This was part 2 of 3 for "the final". Before this they did Elizabeth, and they went on to do Fran after this. The reason no one left was because they had one more workout (Fran) to complete immediately after Isabel, so there was no point to leave.
