@@matthewhender1834 You're saying that the 2013 Diamond and World Champion does not know what a run up is? Clearly there was something throwing him off. He seemed out of it during the whole competition (mentally). Doubt the run up was any real issue compared to what was really going on inside.

I never said he doesn't know what a run-up is; obviously he does because he is a world champion. I was simply pointing out how inconsistent and long his run up is, which is a recipe for disaster. (Not saying he is), but if you plan to just get your speed and find your footing at the last few steps, then you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. You're acting like the run-up and mentality are two unrelated things. You could be right that he does have some kind of consistency in his run-up that wasn't shown that day, but a bad run-up at his level only comes from bad mentality. I'm in no way saying that he didn't spend enough time beforehand perfecting his run-up, I'm saying that the run-up was effected by his mentality. Take a shot every time I say run-up.

People have been talking about this for years. It’s frustrating but change is difficult. I mean, Phil SHINNICK broke the world record for long jump in 1963, but because he was just a college kid and they weren’t expecting him to break any records they didn’t take a wind reading so he was denied that world record until IAAF aka World Athletics retroactively gave him the title in 2021!!! But I’m glad they finally did! New name and new look, maybe new changes!
