I actually think it is the reverse. Some men can't handle their products being confused as women's products, so they needed theirs to be seperate. I've noticed the soap we bought for decades a while back came out with a men's line so men could buy sensitive skin soap without looking like that's what they were buying. Soon after, there were also a line of the soap for women, that of course, cost more. A lot of times this plays out as the neutral item is really for the men, and there is now a more expensive women's line of the same thing to push the women over there. If it had been up to women from the start, the packaging would have been the same for everybody.

I mean, there is the difference that men's razors are made for, ya know, a face. Maybe other brands do what is depicted here, but idk the women's razors of the one I get seems to be made for more uses than men's and I can go Sweeney Todd on my privates without hurting myself, whereas with a men's razor I can't do that. When I got the similar men's razor, I almost circumcised myself yet the thing somehow stopped being sharp and clogged up after a few uses. I haven't noticed that big of a difference in price but I'm pretty sure buying the cheap stuff for either sex will most likely result in rashes.

@X Dr I use men's razor and can attest that they are not the same and are much more effective. I understand that women may have more sensitive skin, but maybe instead of the pink tax, they put on the package that it's made for sensitive skin and not that it's made for "pretty women"

Omg, no, I've had one classmate in my college classes tell me- to my face- that I couldn't be trusted because I'm a quiet woman and "women are supposed to be chatty, they never shut up." Bitch, I have social anxiety, I'm too busy actually paying attention in class to put up with your bullshit. In case you're wondering, yes, this was a case of projecting. This man couldn't shut up if his life depended on it.

Yeah they recoup the money spent in marketing and product design by creating the illusion that the razors for girls are made specifically for them and their needs and get away with charging more for appearing to tailor it for feminine needs. As if shaving legs requires anything significantly different to shaving facial hair. And then claim to have doubled sales because they’ve separated the products and growth in sales of either is something the executives can claim was their brainchild to increase sales and justify the bonuses they give to themselves

@@alexandermarquardt597 I get the impression women are prepared to pay more for something if they can be convinced it is tailored to the needs of women. Likewise i might be prepared to pay more for something if I’m convinced it is tailored to the needs of men in a way that seems proportionate to the price.
@alexandermarquardt597 Жыл бұрын
@@unstoppableExodia Thats not wrong, just one point: it is for different things. Women look for shiny and beautyfull things, luxury (shoes, make up, bags, cloth) men pay a premium for gadgets (including fast cars, BBQ grills etc) so when we talk about "make it pink and charge more for it" that works better on women. Case and point: check whats inside showergel, its the same stuff for men and women, mens is cheaper, women still buy the pretty bottle with the flowers.

I remember I went to get some glasses and I really wanted to get a pair I liked from the mens section but some of my family members were there with me at the time and I’ve experienced flak in the past for just picking out shirts that’s for guys as well as being told a pair of shoes I like look like guys shoes, had to stop whistling to myself around the house sometimes because I was told I whistled like a guy??? Been told that if I cut my hair short I’d probably look like a lesbian so they think I shouldn’t do that… Anyway, I’m not in a situation to be myself, I’ll just put it that way. But I remember circling the eyeglass section for a while trying to find a pair out of the womens section that I felt like I could get used to since I knew not to pick one of the mens in front of my family. Eventually someone came up to me and kind of whispered to me “ya know it’s okay if you want to pick out some glasses from the mens section if you don’t see any in these that you like”. And it might seem silly but to my anxiety ridden self, just them saying that to me made me cry because it was just really nice to hear. I know this video has a lot more to do then just women pretty things. Anyway, just made me remember that moment. Sometimes it’s nice to hear things like this video when you’re used to being told otherwise.
