Hello fagol sagol, I am a current "christian" woman currently exploring Islam at the moment. Please do not take offense of the question I am asking... first of all, wouldn't going to Friday prayer only include the mindset that you are there in prayer to Allah...so If any gender is getting "distracted", is their heart is not in the mindset to pray and therefore that's a personal issue that that individual must work on. I just don't understand if someone is going to a mosque, we shouldn't have to make that there is no "distractions" but to make sure you, yourself as a Muslim knows why they are there with the sole purpose to worship Allah. Secondly, as a woman, if i would come to Friday prayer why do I have to be behind the curtain/glass window/whatever barrier there is just because I am a woman, why can't I be right at the front as close as I can to the imam to do the prayers to Allah? So for you to say that there is no "inequality in segregated prayer", then could we then have the women at the front and the men behind the glass window/ barrier. Also, there is no such thing as gender segregation during Hajj... and there aren't any problems? Let me know what you think...once again, I am not trying to stir up any trouble or anything....this is just genuinely something that confuses me.

But the relationship that allows a man and woman come face to face can pray salah side by side. Women can also go to mosques but they should have separated katar as well as separated room during salah. It is said that everybody has to stand as closely as possible side by side in katar during salah. This kind of position can aggravate any sort of sexual desire if men and women worship all together and it is not like how pure ones heart is. This type of desires are normal and we all feel opposite attraction in our practical life and we know how that feels. During salah if you feel this kind of situation or feel uncomfortable to touch how could you concentrate on salah. We humans are designed to do sins(obviously cuz we are not angels) and after realizing we should apologize to allah as well. By the way, the physical posture during salah for women is not appropiate in this video.

Now would you want your wife to come close to any other man, especially when it might lead to some inappropriate relationship between them. This is not about how much they would trust each other things like this happen everywhere. The same can be said for brothers and sisters. It's simply 'giving them space' so they feel comfortable while praying. Also having women in front and leading the prayer is wrong in many ways since when everyone goes into sajda (similar to kowtow but solely for good and you can't lower yourself to anyone else)...ummm don't want to explain but you get the point.

But could you explain why it is then okay during Hajj that men and women pray together. Also I am not saying the woman should "lead" the prayer, rather the women pray in front of the men...are women not regarded highly in Islam? Or even maybe men on left side and women on right side. I participated in jummah prayer, and I just wonder what is so wrong if the women can be at the front... Men can't pray behind women, that's the one major fault in it. Else men and women can pray together, why not? Have you been to Ka'aba? There are some rules set for that too. But final thing is that they can offer Salah together. But not like the one in this video.

But when it's too crowded, and the Salah starts for not being able to make it to the assigned place, they might offer together. Its not a problem but it's still advised to pray seperately. raphael44ify no I do not. Women are not disrespected in the mosque I have been to many mosques in Texas and some in the middle east. It is true some mosques do not have places for women to pray but that is usually the small poor mosques. It's better for women to pray in the home this is what Islam says. Furthermore the fact that most Muslim women do not wear hijab according to the Sharia means they should be forbidden from the mosque until they wear correct clothes. Not being able to see the imam is not an issue. It is not necessary for a woman to stare at the imam. Women can see him thru the meshed screen some mosques have or glass windows or some use a camera and put him on a screen. Women should not stare at men just like men are not to stare at women. The issues these women have is with their deen....with their aqeedah.
