ALBERTO AGUIAR DA CRUZ: ESTE CONCERTO N.o 2, É MAIS UMA OBRA DE GENUÍNO VALOR DO ROMANTISMO MUSICAL, QUE É ESQUECIDA. MAS AGORA MAIS RECENTEMENTE, VEM SENDO VALORIZADA EM VÁRIAS GRAVAÇÕES, SEJA EM CD OU VÍDEOS. OBRA MUITO INSPIRADA E MUITO BEM REALIZADA. OBRA TÍPICA DO GENIAL MENDELSSOHN.

Uno dei concerti più belli della storia della musica classico-romantica. L'interpretazione del maestro Prosseda è una vera magnificenza di tecnica abbinata alla sensibilità ("notevolissima") con cui esplora, in modo esemplare, il mondo interiore del compositore. Artista contraddistinto, Roberto Prosseda, come pochissimi, dal rispetto verso i momenti rallentati, ossia le sfumature nelle quali maggiormente risiedono i contenuti emotivi e sentimentali di questo magnifico concerto. Esso, inoltre, ingiustamente e assurdamente sottovalutato (vedi Manzoni) da qualche critico musicale di cui non dico altro.... (Rossano Di Palma )

Mendelssohn is so exciting... this reminds me of of his symphonies...so full of energy, high hopes, great melodies(as always)...the pianist must be exceptional, always!

One of my favourite composers; introduced first to his symphonies and violin works, but LOVE his piano concertos too!

Roberto is a fantastic pianist and I love the way he performed this Mendelssohn masterpiece. I was also awed the way Roberto played the piano pedalier on a Gounod composition as well.

After reading your comment a few days ago I looked for the performance you referred to and was absolutely blown away by it for a number of reasons. I had never seen that crazy instrument before and was amazed by its sound and the complexity of playing it. Like playing two different instruments at the same time, one with your hands and one with your feet. How many instrument are played with the feet?

@@nealbaker7991 Isn't that amazing. I had never seen or heard of this instrument until I watched the video and was awed myself. As far as I know, the only instruments that you can perform with your feet are the organ and this piano pedalier. Love the fancy footwork on those pedals.

This piano concerto did not have the same overwhelming success as Mendelssohn's first concerto (in g minor), but it is in no way inferior (which it was considered originally to be for some time).
