The fact that he only had 2 chairs turn for him during his audition show the judges' ability to recognize unique talent. There's a million good singers on the planet, talent isn't a scarcity but his individuality is. Adam is a big fan of ska and ska-punk, so I can't believe he didn't even turn for the dude, because honestly...As a Sublime fan, he out-did the original, which I wouldn't have even thought possible.

This one had soul. The Sublime original had emotion...raw emotion don't get me wrong. I feel like this one dug a little deeper. It doesn't make it "better" to me.. It's like Nirvanas cover of "The man who sold the World". Not their original song, but one of (imo it was their best) performances. MTV unplugged Nirvana cover for the curious.

I would t say he outdid the original, perhaps menlik is more of a medium to light tenor, where as Bradley fits more in the medium to light baritone category. Both voices are beautiful in my opinion, and both carry the same level of emotional tenacity. Props to menlik for covering the song in a way that had not been done before, and props to Bradley for writing the incredible ballad.
