Menno certainly is a controversial bboy. However, one cannot dispute that he is one of the most original on the scene. His sets are not repetitive and this goes for every competition he competes in.

Mark my words. 5-10years from now, everybody around the world will break like Menno. Unlimited arsenal of moves in and out of moves seamlessly. Transitioning like no other. He's way ahead of his time. He's a true game changer. Only experienced bboys understand. Eboys and breakdancers are just not able to comprehend his work, the same way a freshman science student cannot fully grasp the complexity of a Nobel level scientist's work. Educate yourself, gain some experience in the real world, then come back. As Poe has titled it, 'The Algorithm Style'

Your comment is like elitising breaking to few that understand it. Entire audiance was cheering for Kolya...if they who came all the way to Mumbai dont understand breaking then who does understand? Go look Mennos battle vs. Ratin 2 years ago...it makes me so angry and sad for Ratin. Its like if he went all in, full arsenal still the judges would not give him a win. Its unfair, i dont give a shit about being a wise philosopher about it and trowing my breaking understsnding around..couse its simple - Ratin was better, Menno won. There is nothing to analise and be smart about. If you want yeah go look at that battle, analise it, menno crashed few times, Ratin didnt, also he puted some great moves in the sets...still he doesnt win. 5! to 0! by judges... So what the f* is happening here? Menno is the not only one thats creative and original and had crazy flow. There are also other bboys working hard and have all this + powermoves. One example is also Kolya who had all this that "only" Menno has + harder moves + musicality (menno doesnt even try to fallow music and hit the beats) + energy + ..... you can put lot of reasons here But i knew Menno will win this competition when they announced he will participate...its dissapointing... Winner is known, no need for false competing. Just give him the belt of this corrupted competition and end the missery of all people around the world (afcourse all of them are eboys by your judgment just becouse they see real winners)

@Excelsior Menno especialy is "with hudge arsenal" repeating small same or similar moves. Like roll here this way, then roll there in slightly changed way, then roll 3 times in third way (while not caring about beat)... then top rock 100% same...all this without power moves Only power he has is to put people to sleep

@Excelsior Just as Kill has no chance to win it only with powermoves so should not Menno win it (3 times!) without power moves At least for me power moves are big part of breaking and if you can make it original and execute it clean thats a big big plus Like lil G, everyone calls him out for crashes but he actualy tries super hard like from other planet moves while in real battle. Afcourse Menno will not crash that obvious with this small easy moves but looking carefull you will also see Mennos little misses. Just its camouflaged in this sea of small clean moves For me first deciding factor for champion is being complete. Menno is not complete in same way as Kill is not And we are talking about guy who acctualy has 3 titles winning them in the way that looks like he is super convincing way above all other bboys I always say to "look at battle Ratin vs Menno", 5 to 0 for Menno... Thats just not true, noone can convince me its clean win, or 95% of other bboys (eboys lol, what ever we are)

The "wack toprock" argument is the only one with any substance whatsoever. Everything else is just hating or not understanding the art of breaking. The fluency, transitions, little details, very few repetitions, the fact that he's the only one who actually freestyled during the comp, all that goes over most people's heads.

Not saying it's good, but he listens and grooves (e.g. 1:35), often transitions into short toprock and goes down again and he shows some hunger in it, hits the beats sharp.

Detail level 9999999... Complexity, originality, insane flow and constant direction changing. Thats obiviously crazy... he is getting even better at that every year But! also same top rock, same in and outs of freeze, roling 4-5 times in same way, everything looks similar (or its acctualy the same) and boring. No powermoves, not falowing the music at all... i mean he is crazy (at what he does) but that not enough to beat Kolya who was also original and creative, had flow, musicality... whole package Ah, the bcone just breaking peoples hearts

Menno great at what he does. I see a lot of people hating on Menno. Personally I don't like his style too. Judging from originality and technique perspective Menno is great. I can see his musicality but really he doesn't hit these beats strong.

Personaly i dont hate him, i think also others dont realy hate him. He is doing his stuff very good, its different but i still think he should not win greatest competition 3 times... thats all there is, i feel bad for other bboys that i think are being shited on and half of them are accualy not beaten by menno (by my humble obviously limited judgment)

I used to hate menno but i watched this video many times and now i love him. He is definately now one of my favourite bboys right now. But still i feel like he is overrated bcoz there are a lot of factors to consider while comparing other than transitions and flow.

There are more criteria for judging than "interesting" the quicker you learn that the quicker you know why Menno won. But Killa Kolya definitely got a lot of recognition. Which is good cause he's pretty awesome

@@lucastrader8320 One of Menno's strong point is how he connects his moves. It flows very well from one move to the next. It's insane. KK doesn't have that and they both are pretty original. In that sense Menno comes out in front of KK

I like Killa Kolya much more, but sorry, guys, I can not agree that everyone who comments in this video's comment section can repeat 0,000001% of Menno's tricks. Call them boring, call him not real champion - fine, that is your opinion and we respect that you can share it. But don't call it easy, because it is hard AF to repeat it and even if you don't like him or his style - that "boring" is much more difficult than your "writing a comment in KZfaq". And definitely, takes much more effort. And for that effort I annoyingly push the "like" button and the world will never be the same anymore. How dare you take away my beats and childhood?!!!... oops, sorry, that's the wrong speech.

I started by hating his 3rd title. By the fifth watch I have already begun to think of him as of a genius. Don't kid yourselves, this guy is one of a kind. Extremely original and fluid. From this angle it's a bit of a mindfuck. Don't be surprised if he gets a fourth title because the professional judges understand this art, unlike most of you.

I been coached by one of the most original boys in the industry. His brother created air flares while he was the first to ever combine windmill into air flares. He goes around the world to judge and all. He has cyphers at his house every once in a while where some of the biggest name come through and dance and in 2015 the #1 ranked bboy pulled up. My coaches name is bboy goku from soul climax control crew. He’s always asked us on what we thought about every years winner and menu was always the only one he just strongly disagreed with from purely s technical stand point. So trust me, he isn’t that special bc even myself as a high school amateur was able to point out what made his floor game sloppy and difficult to judge.

Menno is one of the best. Only problem for a lot of people here is the lack of some major power moves. I used to have the same issue as a bboy fan like 2 decades before this final. Now its just a lack of knowledge for me.

Menno shouldn't lose just because he is doing the same moves, that is called his style. Most dancers, not just Bboys are like this in fact you can say most artists in general. You do not criticize Picasso for doing cubism "again", you do not criticize Quentin Tarantino for having similarities between his movies. It is like finding your own handwriting and then mastering/perfecting it. Maybe it would be fair to ban former winners altogether but I think having former winners in keeps the level high, you are actually the best and not just the least garbage person that bothered to enter.

U know Menno is a bboy of signatures but the problem I always had with him is that he looks a bit "wack" and very uncool and unstylistic. Many moves look too sloppy nevertheless they suppose to be clean. And another issue I see is that his toprocks are almost the same everytime he enters a round. Menno has very good Transitions, Flow and Footwork but his Freezes, Power, good Top Rocks and perfection on the beat are missing. You could mute the beat and would feel no differents in seeing him dancing...

Mixing in power moves with dancing is tougher and should get more points. Not sure how these easier dancing gets these bboys wins. It's probably why breakdancing isn't as popular. The judging system is all wrong.
