I'm proud of this recording. I was lucky to be on stage with Robert Bly and Marcus Wise. Robert's poetry channeled through my guitar. It was totally on the spot and improvised.

I felt that too. I was telling my wife about it and I was in tears just telling her. Tears of joy and indescribable emotion.

Yes, tempering is the process of strengthening steel.. Robert was also born under the sign of Capricorn, the Seagoat.. ruled by the planet Saturn, the archetypal of Wisdom, or the proces of the gaining wisdom, which is what life it all about.. And also Pluto, or Hades, is the Lord of the Underworld.. All this reminds me of the meaning of the planet Pluto.. And here are some notes from astrologer Steven Forrest's book 'The Inner Sky'.. the god Hades, was also preceded by the ancient goddess Necessity, to whom all the other gods must bow.. And so the getting of wisdom, ie. Saturn/Capricorn, is recognising this deeper reality.. although astrologically speaking, we are living in this New Age, with the awareness of the 'Outer planets' Uranus, Neptune, & Pluto.. The Old Order stopped at the planet Saturn, as far as the majority understood life to be, except for the mystic poets or the alchemists etc.. Uranus The Gift: The ability to distinguish our true individuality from the desires & fantasies about us held by our family, friends, & close associates. The Challenge: Can you stand up to the pressures of conformity, asserting your right to be yourself in the face of censure & rejection - & in the face of whatever Social conventions you may have unwittingly internalised? Key Questions: In what area of my life must I learn to function without Social approval? Where must I learn to break the rules & follow my own path? Where will I consistently receive the most misleading advice? Which authorities am I destined to offend? Neptune The Gift: The ability to experience serenity, inspiration, & transcendence in the face of life’s drama’s; the ability to receive a Vision. The Challenge: Can you intentionally enter an altered state of Consciousness, opening your awareness to what we might call God or your deeper Self ? Key Questions: Where must I learn to de-emphasise logic & function intuitively? Where is narrow Self-interest most inappropriate & destructive to me? Where am I most vulnerable to mistaking wishes & fears for reality? Pluto The Gift: The ability to heal one’s Soul, recovering the energy needed to find an altruistic mission in life, thereby filling one’s Consciousness with a sense of ultimate purpose. The Challenge: Can you face your deepest wounds & fears? Can you recognise some inner vision or gift that life has given you, & do you have the courage humbly to submit yourself to the task of exploring it? Key Questions: Where can I find enduring significance in my life? Where in myself might I find wisdom for which there is a great need in the world around me? Where must I guard against dogmatic, unscrupulous, or tyrannical behaviour?
