IMO the Manticore is the new alternative to the CTX right now.

Thanks for watching. My recommendation is to go into the hobby cheap. Pick up the Minelab X-Terra Pro which is a super good machine for the price and its 100% waterproof. Excellent glad you are putting it to good use. Thats hard to answer because they all have a purpose in my tool box. My top 3 or 4 right now are Deus II, Equinox, GPX and CTX. The Legend is getting closer to the Equinox though. I enjoy the Deus because I understand that machine and I can use it in just about any condition especially heavy iron sites. The Equinox will still be a great coin and beach machine. I continue to use it but I'm using it less today because I've been learning the D2. The GPX is a pulse machine so thats a different category. The CTX goes deep sniffs out silver better than most and works well on the beach. Plus it has GEOTrace features than map where you've been and can build custom patterns etc. Its just a really interesting machine to use. But its heavy and target separation is slower. Once I get more time on the Legend it may overtake the Equinox just because its built better and with the latest update they may have made it better than the Equinox. But thats debatable to many. The verdict is still out on that for me. They all have their purpose and I use them all in different conditions. I plan on doing a video with all of them and going over all of this eventually.

I liked my Etrack but not as fast on recovery speed and definitely would dig more junk , yes I like the D1 and D2 and the Nox is a great machine, I’m tempted by the Legend and the 60 tones sound nicer than current full tones on D2 and looks good with this latest update on iron site.

I do like mine but there is a lot of the 3030 built in to this machine too.

Scott I don't use this machine to find 3 rings or hunt for relics. I have other machines that better suit me for those hunts but I typically hunt with the pattern wide open (pattern 2). Once you know the numbers and turn on target trace you have enough information in front of you to make the call. Plus it just opens the machine up with very little filtering. I think you get more depth that way.

Yep agree with your mate the 800 is a great machine but so is the CTX 3030.

I have several videos on the CTX that will walk you through the menus. Once you learn the navigation its not so bad.

They make great performing machines but the quality build of the Nox was little bit to be desired with all the leaking issues they had. I suspect they will make sure the next machine to be pretty solid.

Sure you can fine tune the CTX and make it better just like you can the Manticore. I've been using the Manticore now since December and it will punch about 2 inches deeper than the CTX. The CTX struggles in the iron but so does the Manticore but the Manticore will separate better and processes faster. Can you tweak the CTX to hit those deep coins?, sure but you need to slow your swing speed down a lot. I think over time and if they fix some of the issues with the Manticore you will find that it will be a much preferred machine over the heavy CTX. But who knows what they are doing. We might even get a new CTX from them at some point. Thanks for sharing your thoughts I really appreciate it. I still enjoy using the CTX, it has never let me down.

Do a noise cancel or try using ground balance. To me sounds like something isn't right. The CTX has one of the most accurate target IDs I've ever seen.

Very thrue. Its a high quality machine and it will not let you down easily.. also it has an extremely precise target id when set up right its like almost having to look at the numbers… its that precise. I used a lot of machines and i can honestly sayt that all tesoros are great , and almost every Minelab FBS BBS machines are great with the CTX being a tad above All

I believe (if I understand what your are asking) if you select auto, +3 is the default if I'm not mistaken.

@@MentalMetal it self adjusts based upon soil conditions. There is an option that would show on the screen what it’s is adjusted to.

Thanks Troy it is a heavy machine coming in around 5.2 lbs. You can get a harness to use with it which will take most of the pressure of your back but check out the XP Deus 2, Minelab Equinox, or the Notka Makro Legend. The Deus is the lightest and probably the most complex and capable but the other 2 are right up there. They will all get you plenty of depth.

Some days you just can't win, sorry about the dog but you don't have to be dbag about it.
