15 years…. The Arkham Series went for 15 years with KC as Batman. One of the best portrayals of the character ever, and it’s the last thing he ever did as Batman before he died, and to have this be how it ends… it’s just tragic.

The ironic thing is that the original concept was to have the Suicide Squad Team up with Batman to save the Justice League. But they discover Batman's contingency plans incase things goes tits up and he has to take them out. That would have been great, but oh no ........ Let's talk about the game company that disrespected the IP, characters and fans cuz the money makes it go down easy, doesn't it? Not they will make a lot.

The craziest part to me is: this is the same Batman from Assault on Arkham, who faced: - Killer Frost - Harley Quinn - King Shark - Deadshot - Captain Boomerang - Black Spider And Batman in SSKTJL is AMPED and facing less of these clowns!! HOW DID HE LOSE?!? It's like beating a Game over and over, coming back some time later, and you somehow fail tragically while using Cheat Codes.

I am ok with the heroes dying. I am NOT ok with how they are dying. None of it is clever at all. The Batman Boss fight is a fucking Marvel Movie CGI Monster fight. It should have been a lights shut off, predator ninja terror fight. Each fight to take down a hero should leave the Suicide Squad hurting and broken and just barely make it. Maybe even sacrifice 1 each time. With a solemn feeling of regret at each hero and squad member's passing. Instead we got Ghostbusters 2016 Humor and Tone pissing all over beloved characters.

Reminder that Zur-En-Arhh is canon in the Arkhamverse. You know, the secret alternate personality Batman created in his own mind, to take over and continue Batmanning in the event of one of Batman's enemies attempting to mind control him? The very thing that happens in this game? Not to mention he has superhuman mental fortitude in the first place, keeping a cool head and powering through direct fear toxin exposure on multiple occasions (we see what it does to other people), taking back control from ANOTHER alternate personality after it takes over his mind (the Joker), and fighting his way through elaborate Mad Hatter mindscrews on several occasions. Even without Zur-En-Arhh to fall back on, he's the one Leaguer who seems least likely to fall victim to Brainiac's mind control. And then there's the fact that he didn't fight the Squad the way he normally does anyway. In the beginning of the game, he hides in the shadows and picks them all off one at a time, using silent takedowns reminiscent of the ones he used in the Arkham games. During the Batcave section of the game, he actually has them all separated, and has the perfect opportunity to do the same thing all over again, but with lethal force. Instead, he just kind of... sprays explosive gel all over the walls and floors and occasionally glides very slowly directly toward the Squad members. Like... bro, what? That's not Batman. "He wants to break their minds, he's trying to scare them." Okay, but when they don't crumple into a terrified fetal ball on the floor, and they just keep countering him, maybe it's time to quit playing around and just be pragmatic, something Batman has never had a problem with in the past. Before, if he got in over his head, he would smoke out, hide on a gargoyle, and come up with a new strategy on the spot. This Batman... it's like he wanted to die. During the big fight, he literally just stood in one place throwing fire (probably actually batarangs) while the Squad continued to pepper him with automatic weapons. Arkham Batman would never do that, even if he was brainwashed and evil. "But Harley's beaten him before, and she could have killed him in either Arkham City or Harley Quinn's Revenge! And he underestimated her!" That doesn't change the fact that this fight made no sense, the Batman we knew and loved and played as for all those years was a master tactician, but here he just acted like a fool. Him losing wasn't the problem. I mean... it's irritating, since he's the player character in a beloved video game franchise, one of the best received versions of the character ever, but if they want to kill him off, fine. But here they gave him the L simply by making him act completely out of character. Imagine how much better it would have been if he and Wonder Woman swapped places in the story? If he died fighting and weakening Superman so that the Suicide Squad could ultimately take him out? A hero's death, not an idiot's.

That version of Batman already could defeat half of that Suicide Squad in one move.

Batman's role in the story should've been swapped with Wonder Woman. Gotham Knights felt more Arkhamverse than Suicide Squad.

Arkham Batman easily solos the Suicide Squad. -He's canonically defeated Harley and Deadshot several times -He's defeated physical powerhouses like Killer Croc and Bane -He's defeated Genuises like Riddler and Mr. Freeze -He's defeated hand-to-hand combat masters like Deathstroke, Lady Shiva and Ra's Al Ghul -He's defeated tricky opponents who use manipulation like Scarecrow and Copperhead -He's defeated Crimelords with armies of thugs like Penguin, Two-Face and Black Mask -He defeated a literal army of skilled and experienced mercenaries with enough tanks to make WW2 Soviet Russia jelous -And he's defeated completely unpredictable psychopaths like The Joker. You know, if Batman turned evil, I would've liked to see him destroy himself. Like he can tell he's changed and the mission is so clear in his head, he can tell what went wrong, loads up the Suicide Squad, wishes them luck and when they complain that he could help them, he reveals its taken all of his ability to fight through the control. He cant keep it up forever, he seals the batcave, and lets it detonate, killing him and destroying the batcomputer that Brainiac was using to control certain areas. It writes itself.

One of my favorite animated movies is where Batman becomes Darkseid's right hand and he is almost unstoppable. Basically in the end, Barry is forced to do another flashpoint, and considering the utter chaos batman can create as evil; for him to be handcuffed to a chair and get lectured by d listed villains is below insulting.

Upon closer examination of SSKTJL, it becomes increasingly evident that the game's attempts to pass itself off as a canon addition to the Arkham series are nothing short of a joke. Multiple plot-holes arise that undermine its legitimacy as a true extension of the Arkham universe. First of all, the inconsistencies with Batman's role in the game disrupt the established narrative. In Arkham Knight, Batman entrusts the Batfamily to protect Gotham while he disappears into the shadows due to his secret identity being exposed. However, in SSKJL, we are expected to believe that Batman can be brainwashed and manipulated to the point of killing the Batfamily. This sudden change contradicts the previous game and strains credibility. How can we accept that Batman, a symbol of mental strength and resilience, would succumb so easily to external control after everything he endured in Arkham Knight? It doesn't make any sense. Furthermore, what struck me as peculiar was the decision to change Deadshot's race in SSKTJL. Apparently, this change was driven by corporate decisions and the influence of Will Smith's portrayal of Deadshot in the Suicide Squad movie. It seems like they wanted to align the character with the actor's race. And then they tried to justify this change by claiming that the Deadshot we encountered in the previous Arkham games wasn't the real Deadshot. Now, that raises a whole bunch of questions. If Batman had already encountered the original Deadshot, how could he be fooled by an imposter? It just doesn't add up and once again exposes a glaring lack of attention to detail and disregard for the established lore. Most troubling of all is the absence of any mention of the Justice League in the Arkham games, which serves as a glaring plot hole in this game. Throughout the Arkham series, the existence of the Justice League as a united force is never acknowledged. This creates a significant disconnect, as the entire premise of the game revolves around the Suicide Squad taking on the Justice League. How can such a conflict occur in a universe where the Justice League was never established? The lack of continuity demonstrates a blatant disregard for the established lore and dismisses the intricate world-building that fans have come to appreciate. *TL;DR:* SSKTJL attempts to masquerade as a canon addition to the Arkham series, but its pretense crumbles under scrutiny. The inconsistencies with Batman's role, the corporate-driven race change for Deadshot, and the absence of any mention of the Justice League in the Arkham games expose a lack of respect for the established narrative and disregard for fan expectations. Rather than a seamless inclusion into the Arkham universe, the game comes across as a hasty and ill-conceived attempt to capitalize on the franchise's popularity. Not to mention, the game wasn't even made by the same devs who made the Arkham games (they went off to found Hundred Star Games), so it doesn't really matter what today's Rocksteady, or should I say "Sweet Baby Inc," think is canon. I wish more people understood this concept. There is more to a studio than its name.

When I saw Batman with fear toxin in the trailer I thought that his fight would have been like a predator section in the Arkham games with guerilla tactics where he could come from anywhere at any time but in some kind of illusory realm that kept changing and you would have to be constantly on edge to win. To see that it was just a kaiju battle with BATMAN as a glorified wall was so disappointing.

I talked to friend recently about how the game could’ve been a lot different. By the end of our conversation our version of the suicide squad and their gameplay style would be: - Killer Frost (Mostly high cc and ranged attacks, little melee.) - Deathstroke. (A balance between melee and ranged combat.) - Bane (Tank, Mostly melee with little range options.) - Black Manta (Similar to deadshot with jet pack movement, but laser helmet with differing settings. High individual damage maybe?) Going to the antagonists side, it bothered us that the justice league was going to die despite the multiverse being mentioned several times in game. At that point why not have a similar story but with the Crime Syndicate, or Braniac controls/forces the Crime Syndicate to help him capture worlds. Maybe just a standalone game where they ARE the main bad guys. I don’t know, I just feel this game had a lot of potential to introduce characters who aren’t overused like Harley Quinn and Deadshot. King shark is kinda in the same boat with him getting popular, but in comparison to the former two I don’t mind king shark too much. In summary, I just don’t think they had enough fun with the concept. I’m done ranting now.

The worst part is that this scene could have actually been handled well. In something competently written, like say, Batman the Animated Series, Harley would have had a few laughs, before realizing what's happening. She has Batman dead in her sights, just like the Joker would have wanted. But then she would have struggled with pulling the trigger, wondering if this is what she would have wanted. Bruce, with his last bit of self control would have told her to commit to it. It's the only way for Brainiac to be stopped. Harley would then ask the rest of the Squad to leave, and the gunshot would be heard with her killing Batman off screen (also because it leaves it open). The next scene would have her storming out of the room, with the rest of the squad waiting outside. Boomerang goes to make a joke, Deadshot stops him, and Harley gets to have a bit of development. Deadshot would ask her, "is he dead?", which she'd only respond with "He died a long time ago". Hire me, WB. I am way more respectful to your IPs than your current writers.

Set it up, lure Flash in like a weird version of an escort mission (they're feigning a retreat and B!Flash is playing along), set it off, dome Flash on the spot • Green Lantern - I honestly have zero attachment and respect, so this is the one I'll sacrifice for a funny one. Yellow Paint. No, I'm not kidding, in the comics, His weakness is the colour yellow, he can't use his ring on anything completely covered in yellow. They basically have to paint everything yellow, including every part of themselves. If you don't want a non-joke version, you could have a Yellow lantern ring weilder join them for a bit and incapacitate Green Lantern for a few secs so he's vulnerable. • Wonder Woman - Honestly, either make her die a sacrifice death against Supes or have the writers make up some magic mumbo jumbo device that disables her powers or smth. It's that simple • Superman - We know it's kryptonite but maybe Braniac gave him some kryptonite proof armour that somebody has to do a sacrifice play to remove and give the squad a fighting chance. It's either Wonder Woman or the Bats' job, I'd prefer Bruce so he doesn't have to be stuck as a dumbass brainwashed version of himself for half the game but to each their own • The Batman - He's either the only surviving member of the League unbrainwashed or he dies by literally everyone alive teaming up to gank him. Bat can't be lured into a trap, he's a great improviser and his gadgets are next level. If Batman were brainwashed, he'd be the final boss before Braniac (maybe reveal Braniac melded his consciousness into Bruce's mind because together their intellect will be the most superior or smth. This is just an excuse to not have a weak end by fighting Braniac after Batman). Now the moment you're waiting for, how do we kill the Bat? I genuinely don't know. I'm not even gonna try tbh, no way in hell a guy like me can make an ending to Arkham like killing the Batman feel earned so what's the point? That's their most glaring problem, there was already no way in hell can they make Bat's death respectable if it wasn't a hero's one. The moment they decided to make him the villian was the moment it all crumbled.
