methi seeds sambar | menthya bele huLi | vegan sambar recipe | sambar recipe without onion
1/2 cup togari bele / toor dal
1/4 cup fenugreek seeds/menthya/methi seeds
to cook the bele/dal -
1/4 tsp oil
~1/4 tsp turmeric powder
To fry menthya / methi seeds -
1/4 tsp oil
little tamarind - wash and soak it in 1/4 cup water
around 3 to 3.5 cups water
around 2 to 2.5 tablespoon sambar powder (recipe link @the end of this video)
If the dried coconut is not added to the powder add coconut
1/4 cup coconut
1.5 tsp salt or salt to taste
1 to 2 tsp jaggery
few curry leaves
For seasoning:
2 tsp oil
2 pinches of hing
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
