I mean, mephisto's thing is all about deception and elusiveness, more so than the other prime evils in Diablo. So I think it's okay for this one to be rather 'diluted'. That said, the mech-y skin looks pretty awesome.

Belial is the deceptive and elusive evil, Mephisto is intelligent and manipulative but there's a slight difference

Deflect is 1.25 sec tho. So it equals to around 275 dmg at Lvl 1 which is similar to deflecting Tycus attacks. It's pretty good. :)

Imperius isn't that minor of a character, he's in several pieces of the Diablo books and comics, and also the leader of Tyrael's former council. Not everything is "asspulled" just because you didn't see it in animation, they could give him skills inspired by what he did in the books.

Blizzard is moving into a more family-friendly direction compared to a dark gritty setting they had 17 years ago. I agree the original version of Mephisto was one of the most terrifying things in Diablo 2, but that wouldn't fit in the cartoony setting of HotS.

The difference is probably that his lower body was covered in fog in Diablo II, and that made him a lot more menacing than he looks without it.

Maybe they will crank up his size when he is actually released so he looks abit more threatening.

Check the bottom left of the UI, it's the mount. Which is stupid. It should be on at all times and the mount could've been some swirly animation or whatever.

I'm 90% sure that Mephisto looks as he does in HoTS because his original model's super long limbs and horns made him way too wide of a target, and way too tall to the point of making everything else look comically tiny.

The original voice actor of Mephisto was actually seen 2 days before the first teaser near Blizzard Entertainment, so its probably the same voice actor :)

It actually isn't. Paul Eiding did, however do some voices for Battle for Azeroth though.

Actually, the fog is his special mount, (look at 1:15 before he fires his q). I guess that's why it isn't added in the normal model. Also, for the model size, consider 2 things: First of, Mephisto wasn't actually that big in his cinematics...roughly the same size as Tal Rasha, who is human sized. Secondly: I think it might be a gameplay choice. If you make a bigger character model, you HAVE to increase the hitbox (otherwise it's just confusion). But an aggressive mage with a big hitbox will have a hard time, because he would be much easier to hit with skillshots. It wouldn't really fit the "slippery" gameplay they seem to try to give him.

Except Diablo looks like he did in Diablo 2. His alternate that you are talking about is his female design from D3 which is the most different that Diablo has looked out of the 3 games, their expansions, and hots and is the least like Diablo out of the 4 design's he has had. Please don't talk about D2 characters if you haven't played it which you obviously haven't if you think Prime Evil Diablo from 3 is the true Diablo.
