Niedersachsen host a lot of derbies. But this one is so much underrated and deserved more attention. With the same passion and intense living the derby against their rival. Meppen and Oldenburg are just 100 km away in the west of Lower Saxony. Meppen is the countryside, the farmers and hard workers mainly Catholic region versus Oldenburg the open and independent student city and former free state of Oldenburg in the North. This battle I've visited is an important one. Not only you just have to win from your rival but it is a fight over survival in the Dritte Liga to avoid relegation.
