@@emperoremyhriv4968 luckily they made more powerful engine to the sprinter chassis around 155 horsepower 2.7 litre CDI. For this 1st gen Common rail diesel range is 82, 109, 129, and the five pot 155 hp

See, if it is a 200-range (US 2500) Sprinter pickup it moves happily bc it’s lighter than a 300-range (US 3500) high-roofed long-wheelbase van and then it might struggle at even 60 or a 400-range (US 4500) wouldn’t do 60. But if a 200-range has a 155 hp, it would be uncontrollable but it’s very poweeful in the 300-range and appropriate in the 400-range. I think this ambulance should have the 155 5-cyl engine

@@sucukinski399Sprinters have a factory speed limiter. 150 -160 km per hour. My father's sprinter with a 2.3 D 79 hp engine from 1997 used to reach speeds up to this limit. And power plays a role here only under load (weight).

Actually, it seems it has a speed limiter (or a slow drive axle ratio), we had several of those at one of my previous employers and ours did 150 easily, even the 411CDI's did 140 without breaking a sweat. The 416CDI's, which was the 5 cyl diesel ran a smooth 170. And regarding bulletproofness, the 2.2 liter wasn't that bulletproof, the old 2.9 from the Sprinter 1 which the 2.2 replaced was way more durable. But it got better after the first 2 years in the Sprinter 2. The x16CDi's (the 2.7 liter 5 cyl) on the other hand were a true hit or miss, had a few engine changes with less that 150.000km (under warranty fortunately) while others did 300k + without having a single issue and the 2.2 was maintenance heavy with regular issues. One of the reasons I switched our fleet to Iveco with the 3.0 diesels, they might had once in a while a small electronic issue (typical Iveco) but those never let us down on the mechanical side. The Mercedes star doesn't shine has hard has it used to shine you know ;)

Underpowered vans don’t make sense, like the T4 VW transporter had a 60hp 1.9D as the smallest diesel but at the same time passats and Audi 100’s had 90hp 1.9 TDI’s, like WTF? And the were the 2.4D and 2.5Tdi but a big engine to a van is more sensible decision bc a van does have to carry big, heavy loads of stuff but a normal car usually 70-150kg of flesh and bone

@@Reiskan_paskat_videot I don't agree with this. While "some" power is reasonable, there is absolutely no need to have to much of it. Vans don't need to speed. When I bought Mercedes vans for our company I always bought the 110hp version which was more than enough power (even with a 3,5 ton trailer behind it), it might not be fast but it did get the job done. And an 110hp Sprinter still ran about 140km/h on the highway (which is still to fast). For specific projects, like mini dumpers which I build on the 6-ton Sprinter Chassis (before it was discontinued and replaced with the 5 ton) I did chose a more powerful engine, the 2.7 liter 5 cylinder but that was because of the higher weight and that most of those also towed a wood chipper behind them. And the few, what we called "BE-tractors" (BE is the type of license, so 3,5 tons with trailer), that also were delivered with that engine had several issues. I've replaced several engines (most under warranty) while the good old 2.1 liter didn't had any issues. When I switched our fleet from Mercedes to Iveco I did opt for a more powerful engine, not so much because of the power but because of the engine itself. The 3 liter diesel had the reputation to be more reliable compared to the 2.3 liter that Iveco offered. And in the end it proved that it was the right choice, we had virtually 0 issues with the 3 liter during it's lifespan. However, due to the increased power and the higher speeds I opted to have the speed limited ex-factory so that they only could drive 140km/h (which is still plenty and to much to be fair). Horsepower is fun but you always need to ask yourself if it's really necessary, in our case it was not, our vans mostly drove in Belgium and most of them even stayed in the Brussels area so there was no need to have to the most powerful engines. You also have to take into account you can't directly compare an engine in a van to an engine in a car, while they might be the exact same engine (the naked block at least), they are set up differently to do different jobs and also mated to gearboxes and axles different to cars. So a 1.9D without turbo might get the job done in a van (even when it was slow) and it might be beneficial in the long run. To compare drivetrains of cars and vans is like comparing apples and oranges. The only thing apples and oranges have in common is that they are both a type of fruit. Same with the drivetrains. But I agree, having more power can be fun (for a van driver). But if you look at the European highways these days I think vans should be limited in speed, most of the times they are annoying the hell out of me when they keep driving on the left where the most fluent (and fast) traffic is. They might get along at the speeds but as a driver of a car you have zero visibility of what's happening in front of the van and that's not only annoying but also unsafe :p

You are right. We all love V8! But unfortunately the stability of such vans doesn't really allow to drive faster. So it might be better to have a solid van with less thirst. 😁

But they aren't designed to go over 130 km/h, because they aren't allowed to go that fast. Chevrolet Express with 340 PS petrol V8 has 160 km/h top speed. This 130 PS Diesel inline-four has 150/155 km/h top speed when not electronically limited.
