Just 141,498 of the W124 chassis coupe (C124) were built. What makes them such great usable classics today? We talk to the owner of this car and drive it to find out!!

I drove a '92 300 CE-24 throughout the 90s. Loved every second of it.

Oh no . Not another Mercedes owning Kevin !. That's a handsome looking car and in the right colour. I like the R129 but the C124 has the additional practicality of 4 seats so would get my vote. In terms of build quality with modern creatuire comforts it was probably " peak Merc". Thanks for the video Simon. Get yourself a straight six - you know it makes sense !

+1.. Luv the channel & the C124 Coupe. .. You're speaking to the choir; "You can take my '94 3.2l C124 Coupe from my cold dead hands" .. Our uncle left (93yo) me his gorgeous C124 coupe. .. Thanks Michael, they are truly special aren’t they? Understated but still turns heads today with their pillar less design. I must try the cars that sit either side of this, the C123 and CLK!

the mk1 clk was also stunning imho. owned an amg 320 for years. broke me financialy but best car i will ever own. ever love the vids Simon

totally agree on the CLK, very good looking cars and way to cheap at the moment

I can tell you that the transition to a CLK was the biggest bad purchase of my life. That says enough. The CLK felt like a cheap smaller car, without that nice view over the hood. So, buy a C124, the price are 👍 from now

I got a super deal on one in college; drove it all four years and the sold it for more than I bought it to a Russian mechanic who bought it as a wedding gift to his new wife (it was her dream car).. I drove it for free basically.

How many of these wonderful cars within Greater London will be sold by families that love them because of Khan’s disgusting ULEZ extension. Which we hope will be scrapped or delayed, so don’t sell up yet folks.

Indeed an endangered species, too young to qualify for the over 40 years exemption but too old to reach emission standards..,the same as my Mercedes 190E🤔
