Thank you much ! Mine came on last night, left it on till 40 minutes later after pulling up and topping up with Mobil 1 0W 30,due change checked and at 3,500 from last 10,000 set so will be due for Service A soon. Thanks again !

Om651 w204 c250 cdi i became a same warning, checked oil level. Have a litle bit add oil, but after 10days have same message. What can be the problem?

What if you get this warning on every journey over 15mins, and the dip stick measurement is always at max? Any ideas? I have a Mercedes C350e 2016.

The same here, did the oil and filter yesterday, and that message popped up about 15 mins after I started the engine. The oil level is definitely between the min and max marks. It's really annoying... Do you guys have any idea what might be the cause?

@@frogdu I am afraid I can only say I have not solved it yet. But have stopped short at taking it to Mercedes. Two independent garages have looked at it, thought they fixed it by clearing the message in the ECU and/or taking a bit of oil out. But still the same.

@@paulus33 thanks! Since I only replaced the oil & filter, maybe I got a defeat filter this time (not likely but possible), so, I will try a new filter first to see if that would be an easy fix. Also, I might replace the oil level sensor, because the message would popup 15 mins after I turned the engine, it's likely the sensor is sending some misleading info.

Alright, update after the weekend magic. I replaced the filter and the housing cap (OEM cap cost about 30 bucks), the check oil message is gone, I drove about 120 miles after replacing the filter and cap, seems an easy fix this time. My guess is that either the filter cap was leaking some air to the system which caused the oil circulation to fail, or the previous filter was a bad one.

Thank you! I have a used GL450 and this warming light came up. Do i have to drive it 15 minutes before checking the oil?

You have to stop the engine and let the oil settle to the bottom before checking oil level... Tip:hot engine and oil will move faster than cold .. so even let it sit for a few minutes after driving should be enough time

@@portlandlocalchurch8168 the dipstick has this orange round plastic tip which is soooo hard to read!! Why did they make it like that! The flat metal tips in other vehicles so much easier to read.
