Mercedes-Benz G580 is the all-electric version of the iconic G-Class SUV. It was unveiled in April 2024 and is the first electric vehicle in the G-Class lineup.
The G580 retains the boxy design of the traditional G-Class but with some modern updates, like a closed-off grille and special wheels. Inside, the G580 gets a luxurious and tech-filled interior similar to other new Mercedes models.
One of the most significant changes to the G580 is its powertrain. The traditional G-Class comes with a variety of gasoline and diesel engines, but the G580 is fully electric. Mercedes-Benz has not yet released all of the specifications for the G580's electric motor, but the company says that the SUV will have a range of over 248 miles (400 km) on a single charge.
The G580 also comes with a number of features that are designed to make it even more capable off-road. These features include a low-range gearbox, a locking differential, and a new off-road driving mode that is designed to improve traction on loose surfaces.
The Mercedes-Benz G580 is expected to go on sale later in 2024. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the G580 is expected to be one of the most expensive electric SUVs on the market.
