Had this problem, might not work for everyone but try wiggling the steering wheel left to right and it sorted the problem. You should hear lock clonk then all dash lights appeared and the car started!

all these cars should be sent back to Mecedes Dealerships an fixed for Free. they know about this No Start No Turn problem . Your CLK can even stop dead on the Motorway when engine, on Rare occasions, cuts out for no apparent reason which means they are a death trap!

Happened to me today. But I saw another post. The guy yanked the steering to the right then put the key in. It should free the steering where. Then turn right then left and start the car. Works like a charm and no whacking needed

How do you distinguish whether the issue is with the steering lock or the Ignition

I experienced this problem but the center dash odometer came on but nothing more. The steering lock motor didn’t lock or unlock as it normally does when you insert or pull out the key. I released the steering height adjustment and moved the steering up and down quite aggressively to cause a vibration. I then also turned the steering left and right while doing this because mine was stuck in the unlocked position. It seemed to have worked and the lock motor then engaged and disengaged normally. Not sure if this will happen again. Hope this helps.

Hi Ramiz, With your awesome knowledge have you encountered an engine light being on for w204 C320 CDI. Basically I was driving along and it was raining when in traffic my car just stopped and displayed on the dash Front Left and Front Right Airbag malfunction. Left rear blinker not working I noticed when a wonderful man jogging by pushed me off the main road (angels everywhere eh) the car won’t start and the radio/head unit dead. Seats can’t move at all and I have no idea why??? 😱 Any ideas??

I have the exact same problem with exact same car..can you make a video where you solve the problem? Is there no easier way?

I changed my key fob batteries and then my car did not start no dash lights and no noise when put fob in any idea please

I have a 240C 2003 if it is below 70 degrees insert key fob nothing happins as temp warms up seeering n moter ingages but keyfob will not turn. after temp warms up insert fob steering lock motor ingages and key fob starts car.

I have same problem only thing is my middle light on dash comes on and steering lock is in witch won’t come off the key fob locks the car and opens and radio goes on aswell

Can the esl do the same faults and also doesnt open Doors? I already took esl off because it has the dtc code that other units doenst communicate with the lock. Changed the motor on the esl and nothing happened

This chap is very poor at talking the fault he like a politician talks a lot and says nothing can't listen to him for long must be someone better on Utube
