The steering wheel controls work when you have the phone connected with MB Bluetooth, I’ve not used it in any other way, and it’s the same process with burmester, and I have DAB built into my original NTG mode and so I don’t have DAB installed on the android side

Thanks mate, just trying to understand the daily workings. So if you want to listen to DAB you just run it as normal from NTG, but you can still then run the Android screen, example Google Maps etc while the DAB plays? And if you keep the phone connected to the NTG, you just use that as normal, example while in Google maps, you can hit the voice control on the steering wheel and say "call xyz" and it calls as normal?

You have the option to have it the same size as the normal NTG screen size or make it full screen in which it has to stretch the look of it

It does, when you turn the headlights on it will change brightness, you can also control the brightness manually on the screen

Camera Works.. even if you turn off screen.. it makes unit wake up into backup camera mode. And for me Wheel buttons do not work in NON NTG mode.

@@DragonM109R Your wheel knob and buttons should work in the NON NTG mode as well (in the Android interface, in most apps and also in CarPlay/Android Auto if you have that on the unit). Try swapping the A/B connectors (these control the car's CAN bus). They are white boxy connectors and there should be labels A, B and A/B on them, and should must have been supplied with the unit you have bought. Its best to have your car switched off before swapping them.

Great video, how and where did you download the Mercedes logo?

I have the oem reverse camera and yes it switches automatically to it, if you have 360 degree camera it will also show that as it’s in the same screen as the reverse camera

Yes it automatically switched to the reverse camera and goes off when you’re out of reverse, it has its own climate pop up bar which comes up when you press the climate control buttons, looked better than the oem one in fact

@@Honcho-nj9yi nah my unit is not from that manufacturer. I asked the company who installed mine and there were already built in 5 custom logos and I just used one of them

There should be a 3.5mm cable coming out of the screen, you connect the usb to 3.5mm box to that, I think it is labelled audio out, and then go on the Mercedes NTG mode and set it to usb aux on the options list

I had actually gone out and removed console and noticed that I had connected to other 3.5mm I believe it's for MIC.. hadn't noticed second one at time and thankfully it was hanging in sight so didn't have to take head unit off again.. just center console. :) but thansk again for reply and Merry Xmas !!

Personally I think the 10.25 inch screen looks more oem, and on the Facebook groups anecdotally I feel I see more problems with the 12.3 inch screens than the 10.25 inch

Yes this is a whole different unit with CarPlay built in, so replaces your existing unit and so even you don’t have CarPlay before you can still install it

Hi this is wireless CarPlay, and yes the CarPlay comes up automatically when connected to Bluetooth! Wired CarPlay will need a dongle

On that NaviFly unit, the builtin CarPlay is only wireless, while Android Auto is only wired.

This happened to me more often when I first installed the screen, if this happens just switch the car off, open the driver door and lock the car even if you’re sat inside and then wait about 20 seconds and then restart the car and it’ll work

To be honest with you I only use the screen for CarPlay, have never tried it your way, if you use CarPlay can use google maps on it and answer calls at the same time no problem

@@LifeOfEmi Thanks, yeah I have an android phone and it works OK with android auto but its not wireless and Google maps isn't full screen. Seems I can't have the best of both 😕

@@nickclarke2444 just out of interest, did you use zlink to get android auto working? As my unit said it had it built in but when connecting an android phone it didnt work

@@LifeOfEmi Yes I was told it was wireless but I think that's just carplay. I used a USB cable and zlink to connect.

You need to change the aspect ratio of your NTG mode to full screen not half screen, in the system settings menu

I’m happy with the screen yes, I have also fitted the stock screen CarPlay box into a friends car, I think if you want the facelift look then the android screen is good, and in terms of using CarPlay it looks a lot nicer, however if you want a more seamless experience with less hassle and quickly loading up then the stock screen CarPlay box is better, the android screen isn’t that much of hassle for myself personally but everyone will be different, I am soon however installing the oem facelift screen and digital cluster soon so will be making a video on that

Volume is the only thing that works for flexx video

You can send the audio via mercedes original NTG bluetooth and use CarPlay, but in my opinion I have been using this method and sometimes the screen it shows the original Mercedes menu when changing songs from the steering wheel, you just have to go back to CarPlay, and it is also heard better by taking the sound out via AUX since the audio is transmitted via WiFi and not via bluetooth :)

I’ve fitted many aftermarket systems before so I’m comfortable with the install, if you’re confident with taking interior parts apart then it’s not too difficult, and yeah all the buttons all work

So if you connect your phone to the MB Bluetooth at the same time as the android screen you can use CarPlay and all the sound will play through MB Bluetooth, you have to select on your phone on the music app to play through MB Bluetooth instead of CarPlay though, and that way you can use the steering wheel controls and also see the song playing on your speedometer. I do it this way takes 2 seconds when you start the car up

@@fcbarcelona4eva yeah so when you click Apple Music on CarPlay it’ll show it, sometimes it’ll switch back over to output through CarPlay on the phone, so you’ll have to click on the phone again to play through MB Bluetooth

@@fcbarcelona4eva no worries! so with that it’ll use the GPS antenna built in the system but you’ll need some sort of internet connection to download the maps

Sound quality is exactly the same from what I’ve tested so far, and I’ve not actually watched any videos on it so far, as I just use CarPlay really, if I do find that it does have a delay then I’ll let you know

@@MichaelDiiaz hi I have realised yes that there is a delay in video and sound, however as I use it for music on CarPlay it hasn’t bothered me, but would obviously be an issue if watching videos, there are ways online I think to sort the issue

I have a Premium Plus W205, and noticed a massive difference in sound qualoty. Not sure whether it's because I have the Bermester Sound System, or because it's a poor quality AUX to USB adapter included

@@KentBaller yeah updating my previous comment, after testing more, the original Mercedes system does sound a lot better, I also have the burmester, I play music through MB Bluetooth whilst on CarPlay now

@@benjaminde-veer3912 you don’t go off the car details as majority of the times it’s wrong on AliExpress, message the seller, he will ask for a picture of your system and will advise you if it’s the right one

@@jmltube yes for the initial connection you need to also click the WiFi androidAP as well as the Bluetooth connection and then after that it’ll automatically connect both every time you start the car up
