Many consider this one of the best engines built by Mercedes Benz. That does not mean you can ignore it. It requires maintenance and parts replacement just like any other engine If you get a Benz with one of these engines you must inspect it carefully if you want a reliable daily driver. Kent shows and explains the reasons why you would want to inspect the condition of the distributor cap and rotor and pay particular attention to the attachment and routing of the spark plug wires.
