Thank you buddy The copper size was a very thin size I believe was Refrigeration copper and if it's not mistaking I think was a quarter of an inch and the drill bit you can always tweak it by closing the whole with pliers if you open it too big I hope for the best on your cleaning captain

I have a 2011 Sprinter, this is the first time this happened 80K miles on it. It lost power/only low rpms, feels like it in limp mode, but nothing on dashboard indicate this status. Code reader identified this.

@@allenrousseau5668 i have a 2013 but my check engine light came on and then i went to autozone to scan it. Driving normal at first and then went to limp mode, barely got over a bridge, couldn’t go past 60mph.

Robert Slater I don't think this has something anything to do with the particulate filter I think you have other issue with your engine

Blue smoke is oil being burned!

Turbo seals may be worn, if non turbo then I'd suspect high mileage..have an oil change

sorry to hear about your van problems and that is very expensive, i dont know anybody in that area but keep looking for second opinion from other mechinic. thanks for watching

There is an inter cooler on the left side of the engine that needs to be cleaned. ( like every 70k miles) when that gets clogged up you get turbo under boost condition errors that will not go away. To get to that part it’s best to take off the front passenger tire and the fender well liner. If you don’t it’s hellish to get to. Don

Hello and thank you for watching and it all depends on how you drive your Van if you do a lot of stop and go then more often but if you do a lot of highway miles you don't need to do a very often because The Van is doing the cleaning itself it's just when you're not running the Van and idle for much of The Times

Yes definitely highway driving avoids this problem that's why UPS and FedEx when they use this Vans they have a lot of problems and thank you for the suggestion 👍👍

I maintain some ice cream delivery trucks that have nearly 300k miles on the original DPF. They are stop and go all day. I have no clue how these DPFs last this long.

I do not know about the 2013 Sprinter But if it's the same system it cleans itself it's just what time it needs an extra cleaning when it requires that the computer will let you know

Yes ,it is worked .I removed the heating sensor 7/8diameter and temp sensor below that one because was in the my way to reach inside DEF trough the upper hole . I used modified wand similar to your copper tubing with no side hole -instead strait opening in front crimped slightly with players and tested the spray pattern with fluid in order to adjust the crimp to have more surface spray --covered.It-- was very easy , and the more difficult part was to get in regeneration mode .Drove the van for approximately 20 min on 25-2600 rpm on local hwy.Than reset the P2463 --code.You-- are absolutely right about the temperature in regeneration- 475-500+F.Thanks for your great video !!! This was the only solution I can afford at this time to get the van back in service. NAPA auto parts -Liqui Moly/[special] order ,Auto zone -Oxygen Sensor Socket Pt # 27110 + 17mm fuel line slotted wrench. The pressure tubes and temp sensors are 17 mm. Thanks again!!!

Denislav Hadzhistoev It wouldn't hurt to try to see if it will solve your problem that's what I would do and if it doesn't work now you know at least you tried that portion, I hope it helps .

The cleaning of the particulate filter is usually when the filter is somewhat clogged but not completely clogged if yours is completely clogged that's a different story cleaning one do anything to it ,you may have to take it out that will be my best opinion

Thanks for the reply. The problem was caused in my instance by a totally clogged fuel filter. I took the DPF off, inspected it and to my big surprise the Cat side had a bit of soot but the filter side was clean as a whistle. I couldn't believe it. It was clean cause I could blow air trough it and could feel the air on the other side. One of my friends came around and he said he spent 900$ to fix a similar situation but a friend of his who's a mechanic at a mine said: change fuel filter and the problem will go away. I bought new diesel filter, replaced it then I got someone in with a Snap On tool and he cleared the codes and on the instruction of the tool I reset the service symbol and then . . . TADA like nothing has ever happened.Back to full power. I'll have to make a video about it one day. It may save some poor bloke some money. It saved me 2500 $ . Some 'specialist' at deleting DPF said 1000$ for replacing DPF plus 1500$ for ECU re-map. HHHMmmmm

Did you check all your turbo hoses for cracks

Took it to the dealership trying to get an auto regen. They told the upstream sensor on the exhaust was bad. Charged me 850 to diagnose and chance a 50$ filter. Then they told me dpf filter needs to be changed and they can do it for 5k lol. They said the only codes left are turbo leak and dpf soot. They told me I change my dpf my turbo will kick on. I kept investigating and found that there's a hole in my down pipe which explains why my turbo isn't kicking on. Cleaned the dpf with Molly cleaner/purge and water. Exhaust is running a lot smoother. Coming out hot and strong. What computer can I buy to force regen a 2017 sprinter 3500. Your pg is extremely helpful. Thanks.

The reason it came on it was because I usually run my truck on for a long time on parking that makes the light come on sooner than usual

Sometimes it's hard to clean it up without taking it out Witness completely blocked but it doesn't hurt to try

Mike Wallace I recommend you doing that when the engine is cold because you will get burn you got to stick your hands very close to the particulate filter is very dangerous when it's hot so it's safer to do it when it's cold then you rough up the engine

how easy was for you to removed you DEF unit?

Mercedes Sprinter DIY, Removing is unit comes off one long piece. If you live in cold climate spray WD40 on the bolts day before you loosen the bolts. If you have pressure washer with flexible hose end stick it on the side the exhaust comes out. Push the Sd out the way it went in. Hope this helps.

I’m telling my father about all these new systems and he tells me that their work truck has nothing like this even DEF. it’s an older diesel truck just diesel fuel and oil no other complicated systems. 2011 Mercedes Benz ML350 3.0 bluetec diesel says otherwise!
