Mercedes vs. Honda! Police Rotation Tow!

On 11/27/22 we got a police rotation for this Mercedes SUV that was in an accident and had heavy front end damage. From what I could tell the vehicle did it’s job, and occupants escaped without major injury. I’m unsure on the condition of the occupants of the other vehicle in the accident.

As for the SUV it depends on who it is insured by if it's the mother then her insurance if the Suv is insured by her daughter then her insurance. Also if the daughter is on her policy as a driver then the mother's insurance will deal with it . I can say this much it's a totaled the insurance adjuster will come out to Campbell's lot look at the vehicle and take pics and leave then it depends on what insurance salvage auction you have in Texas will have a tow company come out pay for it then they will pick it up and haul it to the insurance salvage auction yard .

Goose, it's always going to be the insurance on the vehicle that will be primary.

@@NickyD depends...the insurance companies usually hash it out. The driver's insurance gets nailed.

No, contrary to popular belief, car insurance typically follows the car - not the driver. If you let someone else drive your car and they get in an accident, your insurance company would likely be responsible for paying the claim, depending on the coverages in your policy.

Yeah unfortunately the name of the game on accidents are getting the road open as fast as we can before secondary accidents occur.

This Mercedes...If you have the key and it has power, you can pop it in Neutral just by moving the stick. Depending on what year it is, which should be 2012-13 and older, the parking brake doesnt automatically engage. If it was me....Id grab the wrecker and free-wheel it off the flatbed if that parking brake wasn't on.

It ended up being in drive on scene, at the yard I ended up using the gear selector to put it into neutral.

The Kenworth I drive now is by far my favorite. night and day difference between it and all the other medium duty trucks I’ve driven.
