Always love when the starter motor turns up and the car is fired up. Doesn’t matter if it’s the current V6 hybrid turbos or the classic naturally aspirated V8s or V10s. The sound of the engine firing up still gets me

I believe the turbo in driven by electric motor and exhaust. F1 engines are a modern marvel!

Exhaust on throttle and electric motor off throttle. In qualifying modes, sometimes both at once.

Wow that is impressive to say the least and I’ve been in the pits when these F1 cars start up in this way and the noise is absolutely incredible on tick over and being revved ! Also going g back further to the V10 and V12 era was just an eargasm !

Weight , weight, weight… is the main reason why they don’t have external starters and weight like power is absolutely everything in F1 . George Russel just lost his gold medal because his car was 1.5kg/ 3.5 lbs below the legal limit … meaning he burned probably way too much fuel , way more than Mercedes F1 team’s calculated, that’s how serious F1 weigh rules are

@@Nikowalker007 I was more saying it’s interesting they use it when the cars have a “starter” it may not be a starter in the traditional sense but since 2014 the cars have been seen using the hybrid system to turn themselves back on after a stall condition or after turning off to resolve PU issue
