For you guys who haven't had the chance to hear the v6 turbo hybrids in real life. It's actually quite intense and it shakes the ground, although this is close to the real sound, nothing can do the cars justice.

@@ahmadhakhimi236 Yup. Even now with the merged wastegate pipe they’re still loud. They really do shake the ground its so amazing. People complain that these arent as loud as the v8’s when the v6’s are only like 2-3 decibels off of the v8’s its just the v8’s frequency from the high rmps that makes them appear louder, because they rev higher, so you can hear them for longer due to that. But the v6’s are something you have to hear in person because they are still loud and sound amazing

⁠⁠⁠@@Christophers1.8only people who actually experienced the V10s and the V8s complain about the V6 due to the relatively lack of ferocity and raw sound coming from the ICE. Nobody cares about the 3 decibel stats you’re giving because in reality, that “mere” 3 decibel difference is the difference between needing an ear plug and not needing one. It’s all relative terms, and I promise you, if you actually experienced the V10 or V8 F1 cars in person, you would complain about the V6 as well. And not just that. If you know the reason why the V6 hybrids were implemented, and how unnecessary it was by every top F1 executives, including Ross Brawn, the complaints were more than just the sound.

They rely a bit more on ground effect They look better, imo But they will never match this absolute beast of a car, if you could even call it that.

@@justawilliamsfanActually they will. The 2014 hybrid era cars were relatively very slow. Towards 2026-2029 they will likely be faster as the ground effect is a much more efficient way of achieving downforce.

I admire the V10 sounds but current V6 is a technological marvel. V10 3.0l capacity, 950+hp, 35+% thermal efficiency. V6 1.6l capacity, 1000+hp, ~50% thermal efficiency

Quite impressive sound for a V6 racing engine. Are V6 f1 motors more fuel efficient compared to V8's or V12's? Or about the same duration on one tank.

V6 turbo hybrids are much more efficient than any other previously used engine layout. Fuel tanks are actually smaller than they were with V12s, V10s, or V8s, and for the majority of that time, then needed to refuel during a race, nowadays they can go a full race distance on one tank!

You know.. If Mercedes is making the AMG One, a car based off an F1 power plant, could Honda/Ferrari do the same as well?.. Say, as the NSX replacement or like a souped up 296 GTB brand new car on its own. Imagine hearing the Honda/Ferrari bark like it does on track but on the roads lmao

Um. No they couldn't. The guy in charge of AMG joked in an interview that the board was probably drunk when they approved the AMG ONE project. Trying to get an F1 engine to work on the road, where there are emission and noise regulations, whilst also keeping it relatively reliable while maintaining the engine's character is an absolute nightmare

It’s mostly impossible for a road car to have a formula 1 engine due to them having to be at very high temperatures to work basically but the AMG one features a modified version of the merc w06 engine so I guess maybe Ferrari and Honda could do the same. It would be something I would love to see

those cars could not tun at speed, cars now are so much faster for that matter. Theres a video Schumacher 2004 vs Vettel 2017 lap time comparison, V10 is a go cart compared to present day.
