@@kknocks2378 Well shoot. Not only was it hard to hear over everything else around it, I would have assumed it's an I6 given how common they were from I5's, let alone diesels. So I looked it up and I appreciate the correction.

+SAS B-Rok Found some info on the cars. The W123 Wagon has Mercedes OM606 3.0l inline six engine with 3.1 bar boost and Holset HX 40. Dynoed 525whp / 840Nm It also has a on-demand supercharger, activated by a button when needed for more low torque. The old BMW 5 series E28 has same engine, but bigger Holset HX52 and 3.3 bar boost. Also dieselmeken 8mm diesel pump. Not dynoed. The BMW 3 series E46 has a Yanmar 4.2L BOAT engine inline six with Holset HX40.

I've never seen diesel cars drift before. I'll bet being able to kick the ass end loose at lower RPM's makes their tire life a bit better. Plus it pisses off environmentalists, so that's another HUGE plus.

the 123 chassis had 3 engines. 4 cylinder diesel, 5 cylinder diesel and 5 cylinder turbo. what is the 6?

how can I put that much power down in my w123 in the us. I already boosting 1.5 bar I think that's correct custom exhaust and bigger turbo fuel turned all the way up bigger radiator electric fans egr delete I have no connection to get modded parts can anyone help?????!!!!

These guys run Mercedes OM606 3.0L inline six engine with over 3 bar boost and a big Holset 40 or 52 turbo. And a bigger fuel pump. Ask your local diesel people, they will give you pointers to what component you need to feed the monster. Diesel are usually very straight forward, at least the older stuff.

because they don't know how to fix an om617 turbo ... most of the mechanics here in Arizona . I was trying to find someone for valves adjustment ... mechanics specialize in diesel engines . They are just a few old school guys and they charge big money .

my advice would be dont bother tuning your 617 anywhere near these guys' level. its just obscene. its all well and good to make sure your 617 runs good but it kind of destroys the character of the car to try and do this shit with it. its an old engine. if you want to spend that much money modding an engine you should do one that isn't an iron block iron head engine designed 5+ decades ago

jason birch the smoke is nothing you can do about except for going with ev100 or bio diesel because it hase more octane. i could explain why diesel smoke without the bio diesel but i dont have the time

They need to be tuned and dialed in. There’s no reason to run that rich. All that smoke Is fuel that didn’t combust. If you increase the density of your charge air, you’ll make more power and clean up all that soot.

Finer particles are worse for you.. rather have those big clouds because the soot particles aren't as fine and don't penetrate as deep into your lungs..

You make the fuel rich on purpose, yes they do. They have to be that dirty to make the power. Show me a drag truck out there that isn't dirty.

That's true on modern common rail and direct injection engines, but these are om606's tuned with mechanical fuel pumps (oem electronic pump replaced) with bigger elements, so fuelling is not very accurate (usually very rich at low boost)

if you tuned it properly you'd get near 600hp and you wouldn't be rolling coal over the entire track.

Skunkdog Gro im pretty late the reason they roll so much coal os that that smoke makes turbo spool up much faster. also after (x) ammount of boost they should start run almost smoke free
