This information is incorrect for 2005 Mercedes-Benz E500 4 Matic sedan. Relay "O" is actually the horn relay. I verified this by removing the relay and testing the horn. Horn inop while the relay was removed and the radiator fan still worked.

Hi can you help in my situation fan do kicks in but its like after 10-20 minutes of running. Untill then AC blows hot air. Any perception whats causing the same?

I have a e350 2007 and my fan turns on when it wants to and the light on the ac button used to blink then turn off i used an obd2 multisystem scanner and it scanned for low refrigerant my mechanic charged up the system then the light stays on and max cool too but the ac still doesnt blow cold they said maybe its an electic issue ? Any help

there are 2 more things to check. probably should have checked the fan before buying (thats the 4th thing to check) the third thing to check is the relay. .the first thing to check is if you are getting power to the fuse box. next is checking to see if you have continuity from the fuse box to the fan connector. you can watch a good video from carsNtoys to see how he tests all (it's a nissan but same theory) there also is a video where a dude checks all these on a mercedes but i forget his channel name.

does anyone else have an issue of your fan sounding so loud its almost like a plane getting ready for take off. swapped multiple fans multiple relays MB house says thats how its supposed to sound but I've seen others and they don't make this loud of a noise. its so loud others can hear it through their car in traffic

Maybe you can help me, I know what caused my problem. I have a 2006 C-230 Mercedes Sport with 63,000 miles. I had been looking at my fuses to try to disable the car alarm that kept going off randomly. I did not even touch the fuses as I figured I would later that day and my big mistake was leaving the fuse cover off since I knew I would be back later on. The problem is I went for gas and figured why not get a car wash. I did and as I came out of the wash I heard the radiator fan louder than usual. I pulled off to the side of the car wash and turned off the engine and then the fan came back on .... I pulled out the key and it still stayed on. Then I opened the hood and I saw that I had left the fuse box cover off and looked closer and I saw some small drops of water on the fuses. Murphy's Law. I had left the cover off and then got a car wash and water had somehow sprayed under the bonnet. A bad coincidence. I dried it off as best I could. The fan stayed on. I drove it home and it stayed on even without the key. Right now I have the negative terminal off the battery to stop the fan. I will readdress the problem in the daylight tomorrow. Any thoughts ?

Hello, I wish someone help me with My Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 its basically a Mercedes SLK the car runs great but the radiator fan does not come on I looked at the fuses I checked the box on the fender took it apart no burned circuits so it must be the fan itself if anyone had same issue please help !!

Ryan Reynolds I also have a MERC 3.2. I have been dealing with this same fan issue for a while. The fan comes on during startup but no more after that. Car gets hot and again no fan kicking on. No ac working either. I have replaced the fan with a new one I have also replaced the harness as well as fuses and relays. The only thing left is the temp sensor and thermostat. I have read countless hours on the forums about the same issue and it seems like nobody has a solution. Don’t let the dealership tell you it’s the fan. It’s most likely not and you will waste your money and be stuck with the same issue. Hoping to find a fix soon. Sad.

@@iansmith3975 Thanks Ian I finally had a responce from a nice guy who has same issues. Its cold here I have no. Garage so guess this be a spring summer job does the radiator light come on with your car ? Mine stays on all the time plus the light for burned out bulb also on but all lights are on thats crazy anyway if ya find out anymore id appreciate help

Also Ian my AC does not come on at all and the system has pressure and but the car warms up but no fan i thought of putting a switch to activate fan once car warms up to bypass the electronics circuits. But gotta figure why AC dont work unless i hard wire it to a positive circuit. Thanks so much Ian for your help and advice. If ya figure this one out please get back to me.

Ryan. Okay so I sort of feel like a dingus. I thought my fan was coming on at start because I could HEAR it power on then shut itself off. It wasn’t the radiator fan that was coming on it was the hvac fan firing up. Very similar sounds! Turns out my radiator fan indeed has power but isn’t turning itself on. Still in a bad spot but at least I figured it out somewhat.

Hello I own a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire My AC does not work where is the relay for this car It is built by Mercedes it is same as the SLK I have had problems with the AC compressor the unit had over heated because the compressor would not shut off and cycle . I had to replace the electro magnet and pully because it ruined it . due to it not cycling it ran constantly , it also threw a code check engine light I cleared the code and replaced the pully and electro magnet. Now all that lights up is the red light in the AC button but the Radiator fan does not come on or either the AC compressor. The AC Compressor is free spinning it is not locked up I think the clutch did not have proper shims . I think a relay has been destroyed due to the over heating . Does anyone know what relay is for the AC system for the Crossfire or 1997 to 2004 SLK ???. No one has a video on this car how to fix relays in the Crossfire AC system. Can you Help me ?? I live in Maryland I wish I could bring my car to you so you can make a video on this I am sure those of us who own this car would love to have videos how to repair them because there are not many of these cars around due to them not being supported By Mercedes or Chrysler it is looked at as a bastard car. . Thanks if you could help me

@@ErikMeffert At the end I fixed it installing a new Fan Control Module. My first attempt was to install a dodgy used one from the scrapyard but that one was broken down as well. When installing electronic components, new is better.

There is a lot of confusion because Mercedes calls their horn a FANfare horn; that's why this video says that the KO relay is for the fan. There is no fan relay in the fuse/relay box he's showing.

liar,this car uses pwm signal from engine control unit.two power supply main and ground terminal 15 from fsam control unit,iven if terminal 15 isn't available,fan will still engage at 96.5 degrees celcius coolant temp or ac on,it will engage or disengage depending on condition,failed engine ecu or failed fan module or loose contacts is the only reason fan will not engage,not the relay you're talking about...

I’m having issues with mine not coming on. I can make the fan come on if I go into the service mode through the a/c control head unit. I don’t know what I’m doing. Need help.
