Is sounds like the main battery (engine bay) are bad, start with that because if you have problem to start the car is not this battery. This is like a backup battery for start/stop function and some other electronics. But even if this would be bad you should not have any problem to start the car.

You could try with normal 12v charger. But sounds it need replacement.

@@MB212 Did you own older Mercs? like a w124 or even a w202? they are built way way better- and drive much more solidly and quiet. I own a w212...its awful...cheap

Got your point there, yess have got a lot of W124 trough the years and yess they are really solid. But feel W212 doing good also even if some parts may feels bit cheaper.

@@MB212 I guess we live in these modern times and cars must be built lighter in weight, so all the parts are light- cheap feeling and not made to last - made to be recycled. I hate my w212- had a lot of issues with it. And have you changed a headlamp bulb on the drivers side front (LHD) ? you have to take the wheel arch liner out by taking wheel off etc...its NUTS

Yess don’t like the add of more plastic I newer car but it’s as you say more cheap and cost effective new cars are not made to last as before, but in case of this I want safer newer estate and it’s hard to find other brand that doing it other way. Don’t had much problem with mine other than minor service things mostly. It’s crazy with the lamp but know many other new cars it’s about same.
