is there a way you can clone your old HDD drive into a new replacement (HDD/SSD) ?

@@glasser2819 The HDDs are locked. The keys are out there, and in theory you could, but you would need the file structure if the HDD is dead because you couldn't clone it if the file structure is corrupt. If anyone has info or knows of a tutorial on this, feel free to reply.

Yess is possible but a lot of work, time and money. I don’t know the procedure exactly but I would say is not anything if you not a hardcore mb guy want to invest lot of time into it.

Is really confusing due to some minor things is not the same on all models but usually it should look as in video. I guess from the year you have the NTG 4!

Honestly this audio/command thing is so confusing is so many different system also some small differences for regions. But for the newer NTG 5 I think even if is audio 20 you still have the option for rear camera and that’s not the same for the older systems such as NTG 4.5. No command is whole different unit and no any hard drive at least for all other system before NTG 5

@@MB212 Thanks. I'm lokking at cars in Norway and so far all have been here since new. Your video helped me with understanding the different generations, but the things with NTG 5 are pretty weird. Some say the hard drive navi is the way better option, but the difference doesn't seem huge in that gen of systems.

Yess the NTG 5 I have not so much experience from, I only had the NTG 5 audio 20 device at my old 2016 taxi ride. Honestly I don’t really remember how to easy check the difference at that system due to they look identical. Not sure about the screen size? These other system big screen = command and small screen = audio 20.

@@MB212 Guess it's time to go out and check some cars. I can't see any difference in screen size in the ads I've seen. My Comand 2.5 in the 09 w211 sounds pretty good and I like to keep my cars stock. Wonder if the sounds is very different across the NTG 5 line. Even otherwise high spec cars don't have the comand and that might be a sign that the difference between the systems in the NTG 5-line are smaller than before.

Yess you could retrofit but is all about money time and knowledge. I don’t have the knowledge is pretty complex procedure lots of things need to be replaced and coded to the car. That’s not nice they not support never maps.

@@MB212 that's this issue that I told You yesterday:)... NTG 4 is a "hole system" looks like abandoned by the world:)

It's a lot easier and cheaper to install a Carplay module than to retrofit a newer unit that still will lack features, I did it on my NTG 4.5 Audio 20 and it's great!

Yess then you have the input for it so is possible. Don’t know the procedure sometimes original retrofit could be kinda hard and expensive.

I too have w212 e250 September 2012 model. I don't see any options of audio while using radio. Even engineering mode shows basic functions. Can connect telephone only for calls. Can't play any music through it. Please suggest what shall I do?
