This video is a tutorial on how to remove the wiring harness on a MerCruiser 3.0 Liter engine. The wiring hardness is what connects the electrical components (alternator, starter, starter relay, ignition coil, carburetor choke, etc.) together. In the video I provide tips and trips on everything related to the wiring harness. This video however does not go to into detail regarding the MerCruiser 3.0 electrical/wiring; I will be creating a separate for that.

Great video.....I am reassembling this engine for a friend. Quick question....over by the starter, I have a cluster of wires that come out of the harness with the starter wires and the oil pressure wire. There are 3 wires that come together in a clip that fits on another sensor? I have a t connector that is on the engine at that location, but I can't fit both sensors on it? Any ideas? Could the blue wire have been replaced and is now redundant?

Hey Jose, I really appreciate your videos. Where is a good source for a master rebuild kit? I have a 1975 Mercruiser 3.0 Also, do you wait to order the kit once it's fully disassembled so that you can measure the pistons and bore, or do they come separately from the kit? Or would it make more sense to order the parts individually instead of a kit?
