I have a very old mercy filling and it’s bothering me. I had an abscess and my dentist didn’t remove it. I’m in the process of getting a new dentist to get it removed or the tooth out. It’s so uncomfortable, sensitive and hurts.

Is it possible that amalgams and metal crowns can cause you bad breath ?

I had mine removed. Funny enough, the dentist had a large waiting room, thus had large walls, but you could not see those walls because they were covered with letters from his patients. Most of those that I read said things like, "Thank you for giving me my life back.". They also mentioned what symptoms had faded away and/or had faded significantly. I was fascinated that we were all suffering basically the same symptoms. Pretty well ALL of them were suffering a massive massive oral and internal Candida outbreak that just would not go away no matter what. Many also had constantly reoccurring pink eye. Others also ended up with shingles despite their young age. Scleroderma and morphea tended to appear at later stages when the immune system was beginning to behave abnormally. Then there were the other popular symptoms of constantly feeling icy cold, feeling extremely physically weak, and always feeling extremely tired.

@@chopperking1122 Not at all. But what does happen is that this heavy metal, meaning the mercury, ends up replacing what are known a light metals that are used many ways within the body. These light metals have numerous functions. The biggest of all, is in the immune system. That is where most of the damage is done. Once these light metals are replaced with the heavy metal mercury, dysfunction occurs. The immune system can be significantly weakened, leading to problems like candida and pink eye re-occurrence etc., and then often at a later date the immune system then becomes over active, and thus it begins to attack the body itself. That is where illnesses such as scleroderma and morphea come into play. Mercury also effects the nervous system, and so overall, taking everything into account, you can be hit with a long list of problems.

@@new-knowledge8040 How are you feeling now and did you do any chelating/detoxing before and/or after the removal?

@@claredodd1258 This all happened to me starting way back in 1978 or so. It was not until the late 80's that I had the amalgam fillings finally removed. When I had them removed, everything first got a whole lot worse. I had no idea at the time, as to why this was happening. But back then there were no safety measures being practiced like they are being practiced today. Today they use all the equipment that they can to prevent you, and the dentist, from being exposed to mercury vapor and tiny particles of mercury that are set lose during the removal procedure. So, back then I ended up getting a dose of mercury, and I felt it big time. But that eventually faded away, and full recovery began. I'm doing well today. Other problems, such as arthritis in my knuckles, eventually faded away also. The arthritis took the longest to fade away. I never did get into a detoxing program of any kind.

It's OK to leave the filling in? OK with who?

"ok" is a condition, not just a subjective term. ok means "not really bad or good." so just insert that short sentence in where "ok" is, and it will make sense. its like saying: *"its ok to eat unhealthy food, its just not very good for you."* "ok with who?" its OK with any intelligent person, because mercury in amalgams poses little risk, you have many years to decide if you want to remove them, and 9 out of 10 people have only mild effects that go away a few years after removal, in fact, many people have no symptoms at all.
