If I had just one song and someone would ask me what The Cure is all about, I would play them 'Want'. Robert Smith threw up all of his darkest feelings with these lyrics and you know he meant it. Love this song!

For me exactly the same!!! Fan since 1987 and now 48y.o. My first concert was Leipzig(East germany)1990 4th of august. Formaly it was for me absolutely impossible, you know?!

First seen them on HOTD tour as a 17 yo when you could still get right up to the front of the stage & literally just a few feet away from Robert and Co. That was at Poole Arts Centre. Great year at that place :Cure, Banshees and TheCult all within a 6 month period 😍

The Wish Tour was Amazing! That was the Tour where Robert Wore Alot of Hockey Jersey at the Shows! In Phoenix, Arizona, We had just gotten Our first Hockey Team, The COYOTES! The Jersey Looks SO HEAVY on Robert, and he was Sweating so Profusely, I Can't Believe He was Able to Play!

No es un grupo mediocre, es un grupo musical que ha marcado la historia. La historia estética y melódica de un continente. The Cure, además de ser una band inglesa, es de alguna manera europea. Tiene un soud mágico con reminiscencias de la cultura musical pop francesa.

I didn't get to see The Cure for the first time until 1996 (the WMS tour) mostly due to not having money for tickets mostly and I was 12 in 1987. Of course, between 96 & 2000, I ended up seeing them 5 times (to promote WMS, Galore, a couple SF bay area festival gigs and Bloodflowers). Almost had a chance to see them in 2004 (won tickets on a radio contest but a medical emergency prevented me from going so I gave my tickets to a friend). While true, they play all their classic staples peppered with more recent material (haven't been really keen on stuff from the self-titled release in 2004 to 4:13 Dream I'm being honest), their sets never seemed stale. I think the addition of Reeves Gabrels really adds new life to even the more recently released material (this track included) just as he did with Bowie both solo & Tin Machine. Watching this clip makes me excited for whatever new material may be released.

That was Perry Bamonte back in the day. They lost that "sound" when Robert fired him.

@@youjoker9647 I'm agree with you, Reeves is a best guitarist than Perry, but Perry with Porl were be able to play Guitars AND keyboards, and this is why I consider the 1992 set up as the best. with these 5 boys, they could play every Cure' song very good... at this time they've played many songs that they never play again... ;) Cure'smusic doesn't need a great guitarist, just a member who is in the mood of the songs.... ;) cheers thanks for your answer, Cure forever, whatever!! :)

I feel lucky to have been there for both gig. But that Cureation 25 was definitely something else. It was incredibly good and the upload samples give really good justice. You all should get prepared and ready for It Can Never be the same on this DVD.

A timeless charisma! To see « The Cure » is of course to see a group whose great years are far behind. However, it is also seeing a group which despite everything remains at the peak of its charisma. Robert Smith almost still sounds like he did 30 years ago. By sometimes adapting the melodic line he sings, but almost without failing and always being convincing. Seeing this group fabled is always grandiose and unexpected. Thank you Robert and at thy companions road for all these light years that shine like stars. *LM*
