Im glad they finally went back to just 10 placements instead of the 5 wins or 15 losses crap

The amount of flaming I received has increased so much. My first and only 10 rounds have just been a cesspool of people yelling at me and the other support. We even told them it’s because of the dps debuff and they told me I’m making excuses for being horrible at this game. I shrugged it off the first time but damn back to back flaming just tires a bitch out.

Wet noodle Mercy heals are just PAINFUL.

I just feel like they try to force everyone to DPS instead of "supporting" their team. Every new support got a more or less viable way to defend themselfs or more like be the DPS of the team. Tuning down healing and buffing hitboxes to the max that you cant even miss anymore just tells me, that they totally don't know anything about the game or the players. Why even have a support role when you can't even save someone anymore? Just call them "Sub-DPS" then if it's that want you want =_= I literally lost my sanity yesterday when I realized, healing someone is just punishing you and is also a waste of time... I never hated a a change that much than I do right now with this bs 💀💢

I got called autistic for playing Mercy in quickplay and not pocketing the dps when everyone was crit constantly. I am, but jesus people are being so toxic

I'm barely picking mercy in this season when I play solo, just going for kiriko or moira bc she feels awful. Another suffering for the mercy mains list.

the DPS passive needs to be 10% instead of 20 , 20% is way too much. Also having the 2 sec. countdown restart every time you get hit with ANY damage is just absurd, I dont know how to fix that though lol

Literally this. I have found myself having so much more success in QP and Comp as Lifeweaver. The DPS passive is also overpowering tanks. Its now very very dangerous to try and fight a DPS as a Support. This season as taught me to not ever go near a Rein even if they are low lmao...that 100 dmg swings are deadly 😢

Idk Mercy feels horrible to play. With hitbox sizes increased it feels so easy to die now. I had a game where I had to swap to Brig and Moira just to save our Ana from getting dove by the Tracer and enemy Moira because any other support (besides Bap probably but screw that hero) gets melted too. I’ve just been doing dps because that role is so ridiculously easy now, and feels way more enjoyable since it feels like I actually get value from it. So far this season has felt like a massive L

The increase health pool and size of projectile is good but the healing debuff is broken they need to get rid of it plus there no indicator whether you have the debuff or not

Support main here - I absolutely agree that they should bring back Mercy's triage healing. I honestly think that if they bring that back, she'd be in a pretty solid spot

i used to be diamond and now im in gold because every team i get in this season is on genuine crack or is just me

usually play in mid masters for mercy, and gm moira, was a disaster, i lost every game I played mercy, and moira was absolutely sweaty. Still pulled off masters 5 atleast, but jesus christ my mains got iced.

The thing with mercy when i played her. It feels like you have to heal more but when i heal more i get blamed for not pocketing. IDK

It's kind of funny that they now are making us play dps style that is something the dps rol blamed us for everytime, so bad that LW is now kind of useless with that pretty skin, at least now they can not blame me if I play dps moira haha

I feel like I get deleted instantly. Whenever I go Sombra against a Soj, Solider, Cass, or Hanzo I get outplayed so easily. I only played one game as Mercy since I wanted to try all my mains but I didn't have much time. I felt useless and could barely save anything. I was def not the reason we won that game. I hate this season and it makes me sad that I know they won't revert these changes (especially the passive and the projectile sizes) 😢😢

i totally agree with hoshi where they need to tune down a bit new dps passive. its so hard to heal if my sec support is not kiri ana or bap now.

idk about other supports but lifeweaver feels literally impossible to play, i cant save anyone through my healing because lifeweaver doesnt heal a lot of health at one time and with the dps debuff it makes me feel like im doing actually nothing all game

Bro, i actually feel the healing debuff. I think in one game, i pressed trans on a debuffed ally, and it took a while to ramp up heals. You literally need to play as a dps healer, to get rid of one dps so that the damage is bearable to heal.

I feel like if they made damage boost do a small heal and a heal do a small damage boost at the same time it would make Mercy more viable without having to change anything major.

Mercy is the most noticable. I noticed it of course with others but for example zen can at least do crazt damage and discord is just so damn good right now, same with lucio even if his heals arent the best he can still do shit. The other supports just need to get used to the changes because yeah i get it nothing should be immortal so gor kiri and ana i think they feel worse but not impossible. Mercy literally feels so dogshit now. I feel like shes the only support that NEEDS something her triage would work so much better with this dps buff.

Was once master which I was so proud of, this season I got placed in plat 4 and the games honestly feel harder then diamond/master games... I'm not enjoying this season so far ngl. :')

The DPS passive would have been ok if it was something like 5-6%, not freaking 20%. There's no point in even healing people now because everybody drops like flies as soon as you blink.

i did most of my placements starting with Mercy and found that forcing her doesn't work. It worked for my first game but as i went up in rank it became harder. (ended silver 3 from predicted bronze 1) found that switching to or starting with ana brig or moira gave me an easier time.

It has a big effect on lifeweaver who only does healing, most supports that pump ton of healing have offensive utility or keeps tanks and dps in the fight, Lifeweaver can only heal and most of them when you use thorns is poke or commit to a kill for like a flanking dps. I do think this season makes DPS stop being the "cosmetic role" but now the new problematic role. I personally do enjoy how the changes affect certain dps (I actually like genji now.) But tanks feel even worse to play, and i havent seen much on the support side, but i bet the dps passive makes support worse. I guess thats one way to nerf Supports, right blizzard?

Mercy players are at least 1/4th of the playerbase at this point so the devs will probably make her viable again once they see those player counts plummet.

Maybe making tanks immune to the dps passive would be a good idea. Dps are generally not meant to 1v1 tanks anyway and it would alleviate the healing issue a bit

I cant promise you anything but know this, you do your Mercy work, mute chat but keep your comms on so you can make callouts, your mercy gameplay may still not be game changing with no carry potential cause Mercy still is only as good as their team, however-you will help your team out better than before. I have done this and climbed out of Diamond, but of course it was damn near luck of getting good teams back to back, but hiding the potential of unnecessary comms effectively helped me.

I’m not a mercy main, but as a Mid-Diamond Support Main, I actually love the healing reduction and DPS passive overall. Playing Support was never supposed to be about being able to solely pocket heal and keep your entire team alive with inflated healing numbers. It was supposed to be about using your utility + healing + personal damage, to enable your team’s ability to end the fight quicker than the enemy team can. As a role, we’ve benefited pretty greatly from inflated healing numbers, that have mislead a lot of support players to believe that strictly heal botting is a viable strategy. It’s not necessarily their fault, since the numbers have been inflated for a long time, but this new patch is a bit of a wake up call, and tough love, for some players to step away from their heal bot habits, and really learn how to get value from proactively weaving in utility + healing + damage at the right times during the team fight.

its a bad update all around for all roles most dps characters like ashe hanzo and mcree most of the time can barely finish kills tanks way more vulnerable then ever support doesnt feel as impactful i just dont like this update at all hopefully they revert or change a few things

I think the deps debuff is fine it just means our fkn dps and tank need to hit more shors, if they can hit more shots healing isnt an issue and we can just damage boost or support int eh way we want too. Afterall thwir projectiles and bullets a bigger for a reason now

i've tried explaining to people that supports that did low healing in the last patch do not need even more of a healing nerf because of the dps passive but when i mention it people just call me a heal bot and that i want supports to heal so much that nothing ever dies... like no bae but if a support does sub 60 healing per second then they don't need an added healing nerf on top of their already low healing... like why am i doing 44 healing per second as mercy...its ridiculous especially when you consider that the dps passive was put in place for supoorts like kiriki, bap, and illiari but they still heal A LOT

I think mercy is balanced in current state of season 9 , she's been op since season 1.

I don’t think Mercy should survive and do really well in higher skill levels. She should be a stepping stone to learn the game but she allows the player to not take initiative. It requires the rest of the team to make plays. Not saying Mercy can’t make plays, but has nowhere near the agency of choice that other supports have. Like looking at this gameplay you just hold cover and click two buttons.

I love the changes. I don't mind the healing changes, I just like being able to easily glock my enenmies

Mercy has always been one of the most broken supports in the game, especially after this update..sure she may not heal as much due to DPS passive but with all chars getting the HP buff, especially the tanks, the real value lies in her Rez. Rez has and always will be an OP ability, especially if used on a tank. Mercy players even with the rework this season are still annoying af to play against, moving around like an annoying fly that always seems to survive hits. Or you gotta love the Mercy players that pocket a dps and sit behind cover. IE widow or ash Mercy pockets. I have 0 respect for players like that. Its cringe af. Mercy pockets allow plays to be done that normally wouldn't be possible and make punishment very difficult if not impossible in many situations. So I know right now? She's fine as is.

i actually feel pretty good with mercy this season the healing feels really bad but everything else feels stronger the .5 second ga change makes movement feel a lot more fluid and damage boost is more powerful than ever this season for one shots the health buff and sympathetic recovery feels insane now especially in valk even with the dps passive I find myself surviving a lot of situations I wouldn't have before i just feel much more encouraged to damage boost rather than heal and only heal in crucial moments something mercys old passive encouraged alot as well when healing allies below half hp it would be interesting to see them add it back with the dps changes in effect and add a visual indicator for when you are effected by the dps passive tho

So, for at least for mercy feels fine. The reduced healing so far is kinda good for now, but I dont like the hitbox change at all. The hp is nice too but I'd would have rather bliz do a dmg nerf across the board. Tanks having to play more safely is nice cuz they work with the team more, but dps are too rampant, and if your tank is a bit too passive, you get steam rolled

Actually when I was playing Mercy I had a good time. Did I notice the differences? yes but it wasn’t horrible
