We have so many new candidates for future headliners on the horizon (Riot City, Traveller, Venator, Blood Star, Enforcer, Lucifer and so on). People just don't make an effort to discover them. The greatness ones who started it all is unbeatable but they will all end their careers within the next decade and people need to understand that this doesn't mean that metal will die.

There are still so many bands (yes, also new ones) that embrace that sound. Try listening to bands like Midnight, Axetasy, Bütcher, Interceptor, Vulture or Phantom G.D.L. just to name a few. It's not like they're not there, it's just that people are somehow allergic to discovering new bands, esspecially in metal.

Venom's first few albums

I can accept that a demo is a demo, and a bootleg is a bootleg, and the sound quality of those will not always (if ever) be very good. I have a couple of live MF bootlegs from the early 80s, that I hated the sound of at first, but now I've come to accept them for what they are, and despite how awful they sound, they've grown on me. Though I did run them through a bit of my own editing and audio enhancing magic so they sounded a _little_ better, but the source material is what it is, and there was only so much I could do to improve it. Given the choice, though, I will take and always prefer a professionally recorded studio recording any day. The production quality can vary, from too much bass and "muddy" sounding to not enough bass and sounding "tinny" (that I can usually fix through my own editing and remastering), as long as it sounds better than your average bootleg or homemade demo recorded in the garage or basement. I honestly cannot fathom why some people think "garbage" quality sounds "good"? All this "oooh it sounds gritty and dirty and raw and nasty, blaahhhhh!" shit is just a bunch of stupid posturing. Trying to come off as some kind of cool "rebel" that is "edgy" or something, claiming to like something that virtually no one else with proper taste for audio would ever consider remotely listenable - that's just weak. You're not edgy ; you're tone-deaf and have been listening to too many shitty MP3s at less than 160kbps.

@@culcune YES!! I dunno if you just mean the first 3, but I include everything from the 80s, even 1987's Calm Before The Storm, despite the stylistic changes. There's some good "classic Venom" tunes on there. At least Cronos is still frontman. But most definitely, those first 4 albums and the "~ Assault" EP(s), and even the live albums (bootleg and official alike) are all must-haves in any Venom library.

I saved a couple weeks vacation for the new MFate and king tours !!!!!!!!🤟🤟

When I first heard Merciful Fate, I immediately fell in love with the music, but I never saw how King looked in makeup. I was initially surprised but it grew on me fast. But after seeing King without the makeup on, I was thinking he looked like a guy who works at a dealership fixing Harley Davidsons. I was like, this dude is so cool.

No Dantres i am not into drugs. Ok this is a row recording but ideas, the alternante dooms and ballads parts, the solo very inspired like inspired vocals i like so much. To me the best things of fate goes from in the shadow to into the unknown. There is in my opinion the maturity super ispirate songwriting and recording. @@MrDantres

I only said it because the Mercyful Fate phase you love the most is clearly delineated in their sonority, imo from In the Shadows onwards, while before that album they had a different sound. 2 different reincarnations, kind of like Maiden's two Bruce eras.There are many more fans who prefer the 80's and then there's a smaller bunch who prefers post Brave New World stuff. btw are you American?
