You may Sing this Song on E Minor Scale. So you should First of all mention Scale of the Song you have chosen. Original Scale is G minor. Although,your tutorial is very nice.

Are you playing d minor or major? Looks different from normal d major...

Yes, I've used a different way to play D major. Its frets are the same as you say (normal D major) but instead of using 3 fingers, I've pressed my index finger on 2nd fret, for 1 and 3 strings, and used middle finger to press 3rd fret of 2nd string. It's like forming a bar with your index finger.
