Paruthiveeran is debut movie of Karthi. The film won prizes at major film award ceremonies in India, including two National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards South and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, among others, whilst being screened at several international film festivals such as the Berlin International Film Festival and the Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema as well. It also emerged a high commercial success, running successfully for more than one year in theatres.

The point is paruthiveeran is rural village based film. The hero and Priyamani father's character are misogynistic like the men in the rural villages. The hero not just beats her he ended up killing her. I never felt even is a single scene that what hero did is cool. I am pretty sure everyone would hate the hero while watching the movie and that's how you should show the misogynistic characters. Its showing the facts. You can also consider another Manirathnam'sfilm kaatru veliyidai where karthi's role is again problematic. But in the entire film there wouldn't be a single scene in which you feel karthi is heroic or cool. While coming to Arjun Reddy/Kabir singh. First of the leads are educated medical students. Then the team has made Misogynistic behaviour, body shaming and all the supid things in the movie to be cool . Especially the hero's attitude, the background beats makes you fill like what the vijay/Shahid has done is heroic. You get inspired and involved in the wrong thing. We need to watch movies based on problematic characters but the film makers should not glorify them.

The ending is sad n shock to watch unlike other movie happy ending . Great acting by the stars n very simple set from the beginning till end. All the stars look natural n it gives a feel of village look. Music n acting is Power pack. Especially the female star steal the heard . Happy to see this video.... A hardcore Tamil movie got recognised in Hindi???? This movie is really rustic.... But director is not recognised for this movie.... So he stopped directing and became actor... Karthi is big hero in South Indian... Priyamani got national award for this... Even allu arjun inspired by this movie and did pushpa... He told that so many interviews.... I'm from South India... I'm proud and blessed ...
