Nice video, Harsha! As Housel says in The Psychology of Money, "Not all poverty is a result of laziness. Not all success is due to hard work." Circumstances greatly influence one's ability to make money. That said, taking this kind of thinking too far might lead some to give up hope. This style of thinking in fact discounts hard work. Policy makers need to weigh meritocracy and all the nuances of circumstances.

Agreed! It is a bit of a balancing act, but if we can level the playing field a bit, to keep people's hopes up so that they work hard, we may end up with more people who are well-off. A stronger middle class.
