That razor has some crazy feedback coming over the microphone and that brush.... OMG that belongs on a pillow next to the head when sleeping it's so beautiful! It's one of those things when you wake up first thing and that's what your eyes see you know it's gonna be a great day! SHAVETALK

Nice FrankenRazor. It made sense to try. I personally like the Flag and the Merica is on the list for now but I will wait to see what Yates comes out with this year. Moonsoaps is good stuff - I like old school and Sorrento although I wish Sorrento had more scent strength. Moon Soaps customer service(Melody) is top notch. Their balms are very good too - not heavy but not light. Have a good one. SHAVETALK

That handle looks a lot like the Timeless titanium spiral handle. I agree though, the handle makes a difference. I put my Timeless Ti handle into my Vector head - beautiful!

Looking good, Chris! When the weather gets colder I find myself shaving with Old School quite a bit. For anyone who may be struggling to get that thick and heavy lather, try getting more water into the mix. Our soaps can handle it and that’s where the magic is. Glad you are curious about swapping the plates. I recently retired one of my oldest razors since the head chipped off the side a bit and starting hitting the face. I used the handle of that retired razor and swapped it with a recent find "Bare Minimum" which is a mild razor with a bamboo razor. Swapping with a heavy handle with a heavy head has made this mild razor a sweet affair. SHAVETALK

Chris, Another great video! I have Moon soaps and they are indeed very good. I have enjoyed getting to know the artisans through your SHAVETALK broadcasts, and they seem like really great folks. Thank you for your generousity in doing all these give-aways, but to me the best give-aways are your helpful tips. I own the ‘Merica razor too, but it always left me wanting more blade feel and efficiency. I loved your idea so much that I paused the video halfway through just so that I could order the 921-EH plate. Looking forward to giving your Franken-razor idea a shot. @@IAMCDB I tried your Meri-Yates 921-EH Franken-razor recommendation yesterday, and I must say I’m impressed. It was incredibly smooth with the perfect amount of blade feel and efficiency. Very comparable to the Karve CB SB-G with a tad less blade chatter. Excellent idea, Chris! It’s a winner!

Awesome! You've done all the work and Yates could just come out with a special editon using these parts and give it a clever name! I like the industrial look and I'd be interested in the "franken razor" that you put together. This is how I think about products all the time, to make it better for me and to improve upon a good a good idea. Now I'm really tempted to pick up the Merica razor and get that base plate! Moon is great all around, from the labels all the way to the shipping presentation. I think that the grading of the fat that they render is why it's so easy to lather and also why the lather is so silky smooth. Great people and an outstanding product.

Nice, I hope you enjoy that razor. I can't really tell you what the soap smells like in relatable terms. It really is the sum of its notes. Somewhat sweet and perhaps slightly warm. That's about as good as I can do.

It seems like a tuxedo type knot. Not exactly the same as the two-tone, more like the honeycomb series.

Moon Soaps just a few weeks ago got available in Europe. I bought it to try. Yes, compared to Zingari Man or A&E it is "Mid Tier" but compared to the soaps that have been available just 3 years ago, it is phenomenal. Plus the pricing, even with all the shipping, taxes, EU/UK certification, etc., is reasonable. Interesting that you really like the Old School scent because I thought it might be too dark for you. I don't really find a significant difference between Moon and the others. The lather I made with this today is absolutely on par with anything I've used. That said, I only evaluate a soap for what it does during the shave.

@@IAMCDB Yeah, there are some soaps that I prefer when I am in a rush but have to shave. Then, I don't even need to use any post shave products or anything like that. Moon and also Stirling leave a dry feeling on my face if I don't do the proper routine but with A&E Kaizen or K2, no problems at all. Of course, as always, it's your shave, do it your way. I didn’t think the EH was quite to the level of even the Stirling ST. I think in the video I did I compared it to a wide open Futur. SHAVETALK

The Merica handle works on the 921, so long as you don't have the old top cap. The old top cap is very round, whereas the newer one is beveled a bit. The winning razor, I don't have anymore. I let that one go as I didn't love it.
