Maybe the most beautiful voice in the history of country music

Greatest country artist of all time. My opinion. I love Merle. I love others too and mean no disrespect but Merle is my favorite. Also… back when country singers knew how to dress. No jeans, tees, tanks or tattoos. Class act all the way!

Great country singer and an even greater song. A classic and it reminds me of my dear departed dad. He loved Merle. RIP, pops. Love and miss you.

One of the best songs in country music. He was a poet that touched the heart of anyone that experienced emotional pain. His songs will live on forever. Viva Haggard........

My son was born in 2007. He was serenaded to sleep by a Merle Haggard cd since he was a baby. No surprise that he is not a fan of today's pop country. To quote Willie...he will never be gone.

Man nobody quiet like Ole Merle he had the voice the look and the writting!!! the man wrote some of the very best songs out there and lived those songs!!! what a talent!!! he wrote this song Started Loving You Again one morning in a hotel room he sent Bonnie Owens his then wife out to get um some breakfast and he sat up in the bed and wrote this song down on a napkin now the man had the talent people you don't find that in music today it just ain't there like this anymore!!! and man that voice!!! never be another Hag another Jones or another Hank or I throw Keith Whitley in there to because to me he had it too that man died at the tender age of 34 but if he had a lived he would have been right in the middle keddles of these gents right here listed!!! he sang with that feeling and drew you right into that song just like these gents do!!! oh and let me put Ronnie Dunn Ronnie Milsap and Kenny Hinson in this group while I'm at it I feel like they are all part of the great of the greats!!! well the list is a bit bigger than this as we can all imagine ELIVIS would of course be at the top of any list!!! lol !!! but Ole Merle's got alot on most of these he wrote and had the voice and just could do it all and well so could Kenny Hinson man that man was awesome!!!

Hubetta Lear, you had me on the hook up until Ronnie Milsap. Damn dude, have some respect. You're talking about one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever here (Merle) and you want to put Ronnie Milsap up as his equal?!? Milsap is a decent singer, but he never wrote his own stuff. He never created his own sound. He was a follower, not a leader. Get your priorities straight, bro. This is Merle-F***ing-Haggard we're considering here.
@hubettalear36089 жыл бұрын
oh noo I don't say he tops or equals the Hag by no means no but he is a great singer and given the life's obsticles that Ronnie Milsap has had to overcome and deal with that man has a wonderful career of his own as well no he does not equal Merle but he is a great No one has equalled ELVIS and I don't think ever will so that spot will always be his but there just are some people that have their own place I guess like George Jones and Merle Loretta Lynn Dolly Parton Whitney Houston and some others they just stand alone Johnny Cash no one will ever top the man in black that is his

Love this song and OMG I just listened to Max Flinn's cover of Today I Started Loving You Again, Merle left some pretty big shoes to fill but it's nice to hear some new artists that sound like old country! Merle was the champion of the underdogs, he loved supporting young artists.
