Absolutely incredible! The man is older than Mathusala here, and he steps up and just NAILS IT! Not a flat or sharp note in the bunch...his timing impeccable, and he even works the microphone distance like the amazing old pro he is. Merle Haggard is THE perfect country artist, IMO.

Well there you have folks. The Man, The Myth, The Legend. This was just too cool.

Merle is the working man's poet. I have a special reverence for him as at 73, I'm still installing septic systems in the country. After all - I have to support all those people on Welfare voting for Let's Go Brandon. Man can Marty pick. RIP Merle

73 and still working in Septic. You are a real American hero. I'm 45 and my dad had me out at the job site when I was 2. I don't really feel comfortable for any extended period of idleness. This song says. It all.

Pure class from five incredibly talented musicians. So glad to see Marty giving Clarence White's B bender telecaster plenty of work. It would have been tragic if it had ended up in a museum.

Legendary voice...! So much respect coming from Marty to Merle. And Marty does a great job on backup. Not trying to overshadow the legend - just letting him sing. What a voice....! I've never heard nothing like it. There are a lot of great singers, but Merle has to be in the top 5 of anyone's list. He's sorely missed.

All of the 70s classic country music brings back so many great memories of me & my dad in the 70s. I was just a boy & me & my dad would go riding around on old COUNTRY back roads in Houston Co Alabama...1972 Chevy C-10 P/U...L.W.B...3spd on the column...no a/c...both windows rolled down...no p/s...8-track tape deck playing Waylon, Cash, Paycheck, Gene Watson, Tom T Hall, Gary Stewart, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Porter Wagoner, Ernest Tubb, Marty Robbins, Ronnie Milsap, Don Williams, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Glen Campbell, Tanya Tucker, Bobby Bare, David Allan Coe, John Conlee, Charlie Daniels, Charlie Rich, Charley Pride, Lynn Anderson, Hoyt Axton, Buck Owens, Johnny Horton, Boxcar Willie, Faron Young, & I could go on & on about the great music I heard then & dearly love now!!! I can still remember my dad saying "country music just don't get any better than this!!!" My dad was right...MY DAD WAS RIGHT ABOUT A LOT OF THINGS...SURE WISH I'D LISTENED TO HIM MORE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER!!! AND I SURE DO MISS HIM...A LOT MORE NOW!!! JUST GREAT MEMORIES!!!
